cool, I found my truck this past monday evening just around the corner from me in Des Moines... 72 Custom/20 4wd.....

I haven't taken posession yet, but will in the next week.

Re: Finally got a classic bowtie!

Yes, this past saturday.

it's got:
a Holley 600 cfm carb on it
Warn Lockouts on the front
HEI Distributor
3" lift with 33x12.50 tires

a little rustier than I had hoped, but still salvageable... and damn, this thing is big.... had to use a short 3 step step ladder the change the plugs, and I was in the engine bay to change the back 2 on the drivers side....

needed to add 3 qts ATF for the tranny to engage, and got the engine running. needs to have fresh gas though..... and the brakes bled better.

Better add an accelerator pedal to that list. No, but seriously, nice find.

You may have gotten a better deal than me... maybe... I dunno. In any case, I think we're both lucky. When we get these things looking good, we need to have an iowa meet.

Re: Finally got a classic bowtie!

I think the lower trim was put there from the factory to know how far to lower them into the bondo tank.... Even with the rust repair done right there is still going to be body filler somewhere. Good luck on your truck and if your going for the temporary fix, as stated above it wont last forever but do your best to keep moisture off of any of it and it will last longer then you think. Again nice truck good luck with it.
