These 2 brackets are for the dumbo mirrors, right? And I assume you only need one per side. Am looking to fix a problem on one of my trucks...

Re: Mirrors

Have to bring this old thread back. I'm swapping from the dumbo mirrors to the smaller sport mirrors. Is this c-clip needed or can I just use simple washers to make sure everything is tight?

Re: Mirrors

The smaller sport mirrors just get a small plate on the inside of the door to beef it up a litttle and keep the screws from pulling through/stripping out. About the same shape as the base, easily made from some heavy gauge sheet metal.

Re: Mirrors

I took this from another thread on here. I have everything but that large black rubber looking bracket. Is this needed? And if I do is there something I could just fabricate to make it work?

Thanks

Re: Mirrors

You need them. If you look at the upper bracket you can see that the black metal plate isn't just flat. It has an extra tab that ties into the wing window bracket. You could make something but it is hard to improve on factory design.

Re: Mirrors

That's always true about factory design but there's no one out there selling this piece.

Re: Mirrors

Thanks 1774btcrew for the mirror brackets. I'm missing one of my plastic gaskets that go on the outside. What can I use to duplicate one of these. My guess is its purpose is to keep the holes weatherproof???

Also exactly where does the metal bracket fit into? The way it's made you would think it affixes to a bracket inside the door

Re: Mirrors

There is an access hole when you remove the door panel. It is roughly 1 and 1/2" vertical height and a little over an inch wide. There is a hex head bolt the mounts to the bottom of the wing window. You remove that, slide your bracket in and put the bolt back in. As far as the seal goes you could get by with a piece of innertube using the one piece you have as a template.

Re: Mirrors

Thanks again 1774. That sounds simple enough. Funny thing is my buddy just brought me an inner tube and I threw it away thinking it was to thin

I'm definetly still trying to save up to buy some more c-10 goodies from you

Thanks
Slim
