Re: Longhorn Man Reunion Tour 08

First, thanks again Mark for hosting this!! You rock! We missed you too Andy!
It was a pleasure to see you all again and to see some new faces too. Drew (Twisted78SS) and his son Zachary (Lil' Twisted?) came from the square body forum and I hope we'll see them more often on this forum- perhaps between Livrat and myself, they'll be owning a '67-'72 somethingerother soon!

Thanks to all that worked on my truck. I'm truly grateful for all of it! The original plan was to do a Rustoleum roll-on paint job, however the closer we got to the day, the more we realized it looked like rain would diminish our plans so while Mike (Frizzle Fry) and I were on our way up we figured that there was enough body work to keep us all occupied for the day. In fact, we were going to slap on some mud as well, but never got around to it. It was a fun day and well worth the 8 hours of driving time. On the way back Mike and I were following a super nice RV coach that was doin’ over 80mph! My steering and suspension aren’t as tight as I’d like them to be and I just didn’t want to keep up. Otherwise we made it there and back without a hitch. After my tranny grenaded several months ago, I was a bit gun shy with the journey but the truck performed flawlessly…..and now looks a whole lot better!!! If you’ve ever considered coming to an event like this but haven’t yet, you’re missing out. There are a lot of good people on these boards and we have some of the finest right here in the Pacific NW!!!

Oh, and wait 'till you see the final version of the nose art! She'll be a beauty! But that'll have to wait until I get some Rustoleum on the fender.

Re: Longhorn Man Reunion Tour 08

Hey everyone, I also wanted to give a huge thanks to all of you for bringing this together and making for a fun day all around. Zachary even though quiet had a great time and asked several times on the way home "when are we going to have one down here".. Sounds like he's hooked, so I had better figure out a board name for him quick.

This has also renewed my interest in finding my own 67-68.. Thanks allot Brad!

Guess I had better finish the 78 and make it available soon. Hope to see everyone at the swap meet!

Re: Longhorn Man Reunion Tour 08

Taking a break from installing new interior doors in the house. Two down, six to go.

Few more pics and thats it for me.

The crew putting in an NTB (new to Brad) windshield. Mark (Livrat) is inside pulling the cords.

Mike (stllookn) doing a little hammer and dolly work.

Brad wore last years shirt, kind of crazy taking a chance on messing up a highly collectible item like that....

Re: Longhorn Man Reunion Tour 08

That was a good time indeed! I'm still recovering (20hr day after 2hrs sleep ). Thanks again to CG for hosting, Al for the shirts, Ellen for the grub, LHM for the "excuse," and everyone else for a great day of truckin BS! <-the good kind. I didn't even get a good look at that nose art till we got back to Portland. It looks schweet! I think it was a good move to focus on fixing all the little body issues. We had plenty to keep the crew busy all day and then some. It may be hard to capture in before/after shots but the truck came a long way with a good crew working for about 8 hours.

Brad, if you want to pull the rest of those dings at my place before you paint it let me know.

Looks like you all had a great time. I called Brad but all I could hear was Mike (stllookn) hammering away.
