Re: 08 Jeep headlights in a square body

i suggest using a relay everytime even on a stock setup , it happens a lot that the switch heats up to the point of catching fire .
the relay is cheap insurance compared to having to replace the dash and wiring under it in the best scenario

I like the way those headlights look! Really makes me wish that my truck was an earlier model so that I could have a set too! ...Joe

Re: 08 Jeep headlights in a square body

I really like the look! I am thinking about doing that to my '65. I found these awhile back on the web and they look alot like your, but are $109 for a pair with free shipping.

http://www.roundeyes.com/Jeep_Headla...Headlamps.html

From those pictures, they look the same and the description is the same.

Looks good.

Thats funny! Check the price from drivers side to pass. side, i think one side was a few bucks more. Get two of the cheaper one, the lights are the same the mounting brackets were different you will not use them anyway. part # on the pigtail...1-68018959AA.

Got any pics of the whole front end so we can see how it looks overall? Have you been able to try them out yet?

Re: 08 Jeep headlights in a square body

If you're worried about the amp draw and don't want to install a relay
you could install HID lamps and that would decrease the current draw by
maybe half.
HIDs are cheap now, just don't get Chinese ones. Tiawan is good.

I put 'crystal clears' in my 77, but they spread out the light too much, I had to buy driving
lights to see very far on unlit streets.

Re: 08 Jeep headlights in a square body

i got a set of those "projector lights" from ebay... THEY SUCK!!!! and they are NOT projector lamps but "projector look"

sure they look kind of cool. but, if you want to drive your truck at night forget it!

the size is 7in rounds. i will be doing this swap (jeep headlamps) into my C20 soon. then i have a hook up with an HID company. i think they should have the hi/low HID kit that would fit these lamps.

Re: 08 Jeep headlights in a square body

I had a thought today on my way to work. Is there anyone else interested in doing this swap currently? I might be able to help save a couple of people some money in getting the parts. I have an account at work with a MOPAR dealer and may be able to get a couple sets for less and hook a couple people up. If that would be of interest, let me know. I can't guarantee it at this point, but I will look into my costs if anyone would like. PM me if you want me to look into it.

Re: 08 Jeep headlights in a square body

Those would be perfect candiates for a projector retrofit. Ive got a pair of bi xenon projectors finally But hacking up a 100 dollar light to mod it probally isnt attactive.. but the bone yard to score a set of jeep lights... win! Ebay sells the projectors for those who wants to do a conversion similar to what ive done for the real projector retro fit. Ebay tag e55 projector... check it out.. if youve got a welder and a little bit of creativity, you can have some wicked cool lighting!

Sure they will. With enough effort and a big hammer, you can put a round light in a square hole.

Crawdadfox sold the truck a while back before it was on the road I believe. Another board member in Canada has the truck now last time I checked....

Also, look at the link in post #29 above. They are similar lights to the factory Jeep lights...
