Re: True Duals - How's yours Exit?

old setup exits over the axle before I did a flip kit, the axle tubes would hit the pipes so cut the pipe a few inches away from the muffler

Re: True Duals - How's yours Exit?

Right in front of the rear axle, makes abit of a drowning noise, but no tail pipes the worry about when backing up to trailers, putting boats in the water....etc...

Grande, didn't that used to be a silver stepside? Before that, wasn't it a red stepside?

My stepside was orange for a long time. I painted it silver then sold it but I kept the wheels. The truck in the pic above in another truck I have. Thats an older picture, its red now.

Re: True Duals - How's yours Exit?

My '80 has duals dumped before the axle. I think you get the true sound of the muffler that way. I find that when they are out the rear, they are too poppy for my taste.

I want to try putting both pipes exiting before the pass side rear tire at an angle like a NASCAR though. I think that would look and sound good. Has anyone done this?

Re: True Duals - How's yours Exit?

I took the black tru in today and had the mufflers and tail pipes changed . I took the 2.5" Flowmaster 40's off and installed 50's . I like it much better now . I also ran the pipes out behind the rear tires pointing down at an angle . When I got home , I cut the pipes at an angle level to the ground with a cut off wheel . I like it much better since the only thing seen from the side now is the short piece of pipe that drops down . I had him tuck the tailpipes up as far as possible .
