Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
Not a C10, but figured it being a manual was good enough! Started out as a SM465 4-speed behind a 454, but is now a GM NV4500 5-speed behind a LY6 6.0L from Mast Motorsports!!! It ain't not fun to go if you don't have to row (through the gears)!!!!

Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
See my sig. No pictures of the interiors, how exciting are dirty farm trucks?
You want manual? The 77 has manual trans, manual windows, manual locks, manual steering, and manual disc brakes. You gotta be a man to drive it on concrete.

Hell yeah.
Taking a perfectly smoove runnin' 3 on the tree muncie(?) and throwing a T5 up in there. If the T5 breaks...I'll get a TKO to handle the torque monster 250 |

I always preferred the rubber floor mats. I got one from my old truck that I am putting in my Silverado.

Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
Needs carpet, and I'm looking for a GM A833 to go behind it. I was gonna leave the 350 and swap a T5 in, but now I'm thinkin a big block swap and an OD 4speed.

For the money, you'll be better off with a late model 5 speed.

The current NV4500 is getting yanked this weekend and replaced with a fresh reman. As it turns out, the used one I used for the swap was a turd.

Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This just turned out to be one of my favotite threads...........I am in the process of converting mine to a Muncie M20 (along with a little help and encouragement from SWB85). I don't feel like dropping $ 80+ for a new Muncie shifter. Who has some ideas on fabricating their own? I have all of the specs (even drew up a template) for the Hurst # 5384331 shifter that SWB85 is using but, I kind of what do something on my own. I have been fooling with this truck for (2) years and need to get it back on the street........

Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
Here's a question for the guys who are using passenger car 4-speeds. What did you use for a driveshaft?

Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
Thanks for the heads up! Maybe I'll just hook my M22 up behind it and call it a day. I was saving that tranny for another project later, but who knows.

Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
For all you guys that are using car four speeds, what are you using for your shifter stick besides the Hurst # 5384331? Seems to be the biggest one out there @ 16.5". Here is my tranny in all of its glory. Need to clean it up and throw soem new gaskets on it and some fluid and put it in......................

Re: Post your Manual Squarebodies
Damn didn't know so many C10's were built with SM465's. Here is mine.
86 Custom Deluxe 2WD. Optioned with 305 V8, power steering, SM465, and not much else. Might be swapping to a NV3500 once I swap out the rear gears |
