Re: Check out my lucky find!!! 72 Cheyenne Super

Just unbelievable. Even the low mileage original survivors I find still have some issue somewhere with a rust spot or repainted areas. That is truely a rare find and so well optioned. You are doing the right thing keep it as it came even if it shows some age. Mark

Re: Check out my lucky find!!! 72 Cheyenne Super

Thanks again everyone!
I have a picture of the SPID sticker but my camera wont let me focus so it is blurry and impossible to read so I looked at it again last night and the code for the paint is 458.
I looked it up on the link to color charts two tone codes and the colors according to the chart are 524 and 521.
It says that is Hugger orange and white but I wonder what those out there with color code 524 say on there SPID glove box door stickers????
Whatever it is it is a cool color and in great shape for the original paint!

Re: Check out my lucky find!!! 72 Cheyenne Super

Here is the SPID for those of you who have magnifying eyes.......
I cant read it for #!@**!@.
What they say is

Heavy Rear Spring Front Stabilizer
350 CID V8 Engine Positraction axle
Power Steering Turbo Hydromatic
Full Wheel Covers G78-15 Highway BB
Chrome Rear Bumper A.M. Pushbutton Radio
Special Paint Cheyenne Super Sport
Parchment Trim

Oh yeah, I thought yopu guys might want to see the condition of the inside of the bed also. There is the beginning of a rust spot on those pesky rear corners of the bed floor.

Re: Check out my lucky find!!! 72 Cheyenne Super

Tim,

My SPID shows 458 as White and Medium Red. On the Build Sheet 458 reads W-HOR-W-HOR, which means the top is White, the main body color is Hugger Orange, there is a White area between the mouldings, and Hugger Orange below.

NICE TRUCK!

Nemo fits, both my kids and I like that movie, very appropriate, and a nice "Find" too by the way. Good to hear that you will be restoring the seat to original, sure is a head turner with that color scheme, and will be nice to drive on a lazy sunny day...
