Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

Beautiful truck. Thanks for the detailed pics and descriptions! Hopefully I didn't miss it but did you get the side panels from Tim Christian also?

I can vouch for the quality of the Stock Interiors carpet. Mine has been test-fitted and trimmed but has come back out. Very good price also, and USA made in Georgia.

Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

The side panels are original, too expensive to buy, mine are still nice. Th carpet was a good price for the complete kit and yes Made in USA. Thanks for the compliment, I do love the convertible aspect

Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

Great work, enjoyed reading and watching your progress...

Got a question for you, you posted up a pic of your engine compartment, there is an electrical devise mounted to the passenger side fender(red and black wires going to it) is this a junction block? Mine doesn't have one, and I would like to get one, but I need to know what to search for.

Any help?

Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

Yes that would be great, I only have 2 wires in that area, one is a red w/fusible link and a black w/ the large connecter on it like yours, but I don't have the second black wire. I've never had good things happen when I hook a red and black wire together.

I also have my alt. wires in that area...
Can I use your pic. to locate the part?

Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

The second black wire is kind of weird, it is connected with a fusible link and goes from black-red. It runs in the harness over the radiator and it seems like its connected to the voltage regulator as red. There is black tape and I can't tell 100%. The red one from the junction box goes connected directly to the battery. The other black one from junction box runs along the radiator and into the taped harness, lights? Yes by all means use my pics and get what you need. Maybe not much help as tape is around wires from plastic cover/harness on top of radiator. LMK if I can help further or if u need more pics.

Guys I believe that is the junction for the lights and power for anything that should be on when the car is off.

She looks great! Now I just need to make some *forward* progress on mine. Your interior is all saddle right? I think I want to convert it back to factory saddle color. Plus it might cool it off a little.

Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

The color is saddle. And I figured out I was thinking of parchment interior when I said my original was saddle, it's really black

Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

Man, that is a sweet Ochre baby. Great work!

Not sure if Jaros got the answer or not, but the fusible link is in the ckt for the ammeter. It runs from the juntion to the alternator then into the harness for the fuse box eventually ending up at the ammeter. Its not really "on" when the key is off, it just has power sitting there and available in case you put the key in acc or start the truck.

Re: JOY! Finished my K5 face lift, its DONE!

We just hijacked the crap outa Levi's thread, but it is one beautiful stock truck...

Thanks for the answer Red, I think I understand the function of that ckt. Never had a red and black wire hooked together before. Since the ckt is really never "on", I should be OK
