Cool just LMK? I have some cheapy ones from AIM for an 88-99 truck and they are powder coated, so I guess I just ASS U ME'd the ECE ones would have been done too, wonder why they aren't?

when i bought my mcgughy's (??)spindles they were not coated with anything as well. i don't thing manufacture's do any of that so the user is free to do what ever they want.... i guess. it is a interesting proposition for a manufacturer though???

OK, I just figured a powder coat would keep the parts looking good, but a color change makes sense?

OK more progress with picts!! I installed the upper rear shock relocators and the lowered rear springs. I know you eastern guys will be upset but I didn't need a cutting torch or anything, just a shot of WD40 and a rachet! She came apart nicely and back to gether with a little wire brush clean up and black paint for good measure! Enjoy!!

Up first out with the old rear upper shock mount, grind an X into rivet, air chisel out and TADAH out it comes. the rest of the picts are the new going in and a comparison between the old OE spring and the new rear lowered spring.

These picts are some profile picts after the lowered springs installed. I didn't do the bottom rear shock mounts as the Dana 60 that is in there now will not stay. I hope to pick up the Burb I am getting for the 5-lug donor stuff (I hope to build the Burb as a 4X4 in the future, but for now it donated it's 5-lug suspension to the Blazer).

UPDATE! This was on page 7 so I am providing a bump with new info...

Mike just picked up a 2wd Burb that he is going to swap over to 4x4 sooooo

The 5 lug stuff will be swapped over to the 2wd Blazer - Mike is still looking for a posi rear though (I think)...

Also - another change to note - the rears will now have Glock's Brackets with the 93-97 rear Camaro disc brakes -

Well, I am ashamed to say I have not put a lot of love into the Blazer as of late. I sillily (is that a word?

) anyways I took on a quicky fix up a car for my niece project and it is still here! I have done everything to this thing, 94 Camaro, new front and rear suspension, brakes, bearing etc, etc. Tuned on the 3.4 (new DIS coils, plugs, wires, belts hoses, computer) New trans filter, new cat, etc, etc plus a newer interior out of a 98 Camaro as this one was not 100%. Anyways, I had to pull the top of the manifold off last night to replace the injectors, SO I finally gave the Blazer some love, amazing what I can get done in just a few hours if I get a chance to DO IT!

Here's the picts, I think they are worth a few thousand words!!

The 5-lug rear is in for good now and the shock reloators are in upper and lower. I put new axle bearings and seals in it as well. The rear is done with the exception that I want to be sure I have the brake brackets in right before I tighten them down, can anyone verify this is correct??

I also need to get the calipers and rotors but that is easy enough. As you can see the highest point in the rear fender arch is 28" so it is fairly low but not crazy!

The last of them!! I just recieved the new 1/2 ton upper and lower balljoints so I can put the 1/2 ton dropped spindles on here probably this weekend. The Camaro is DOA untill the man in the brown truck stops by and that won't be till Monday or Tues I'm sure. I hope to get a lot of work down this weekend we start school Monday (staff) and the kids come back Wed!!

This is it for now, not a lot of progress, but progress none the less!!

Awsome! I'm using 4" springs out back as well; glad to see where I'll prolly be sitting. I've made way less progress on my '72 2wd than this; do the days get shorter as we age or what?

Always nice to see progress - I was out of town the past few days - so it was even more of a surprise to come back to ta post update.

Another thing - some people have had to remove a small amount from the hub of the axles to allow for the 93-97 rotors to seat properly on the axle hubs.

Once you get the rotors - check to see if this will be an issue or not - jholley has the same setup - but he didn't have to clearance the rotors...

Being held up a bit due to the 3/4 ton lower A-arms being different than the 1/2 tons. I had a full 3/4 ton 8-lug set-up under this thing, but swapping it back to 5-lug, so I need to locate a set of 1/2 ton lowers and a get on to installing the 454/th350 into it then some other stuff as time allows. I was supposed to be done with this thing by now but other stuff got in the way, so now I am shooting for end of Sept so I need to get busy!!

OK here we go, I have been swamped and had a death in the family so it has been quite a while since I updated the Blazer build. It is coming along, slowly but surely. I have the front mostly done, 2.5" drop spindles on it with stock height springs, new ball joints, upper and lower, along with a-arm shafts, and inner and outer tie rods. I need to finish up the brakes, front and rear, but you kinda get the idea as far as stance goes. The front looks a little high but the BBC and trans should solve that issue. I pulled the front sheetmetal off to give everything a good blast w/my pressure washer. The frame is in excellent shape with some of the oe black paint still on it!
