Re: Cheap 6 lug rear disc????
Doesnt the 88 and up 4X4 1/2 ton pickup use a hat style rotor on the front..........???? I think they do...? Maybe that in conjunction with a fabbed up bracket and 4x4 front caliper.....????? I imagine you have to do some mods to the rotor or the axle register....... Maybe.....?

Re: Cheap 6 lug rear disc????
you can get the rotors off of an early 90's model 4x4 front end at oreillys for arond 20 buck apiece. The calipers for another 20 bucks apiece, and any jegs or racing catalog will have some weld on caliper brackets for 10 bucks apiece. a rear disc break setup for 100 bucks.

Re: Cheap 6 lug rear disc????
I'm curious if you've looked into the '99+ disc axles out of the pick-ups? I see them for sale around here for 300-500 bucks. Will it not hold up to your drivetrain power?

Re: Cheap 6 lug rear disc????
I run the CPP 6 lug setup with the Cadillac calipers with E-brakes mentioned above. They really work well. The E-brakes are super and hooked right up with the new cables that are provided, just had to move the cable brackets on the trailing arms. So if you go with a store bought kit I would recommend CPP. I ordered standard rotors but they sent me vented and cross drilled, yea. (Currently the kit is $599, dang I don't remember it being that expensive).
Note: You really need a manual proportioning valve in the rear line to set the pressure split correctly to prevent premature rear lockup. Good luck, TR

Re: Cheap 6 lug rear disc????
Guys, here is a solution. search "12 bolt rear disk bracket" on ebay.Or here is the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT Now on the page of the ebay page, it tells you exactly what rotor and caliper match up with this kit which you can also find on ebay for cheap. |
