Re: Have you guys seen this new brake kit from CPP? What a dream come true?

I just received your new modular spindle to go with my wilwood SL6R kit.

I am curious as to how you narrowed the track width 3/4 inch a side with this spindle exactly.

Thanks,

Eric-

So, what kind of deal are you talking about for front and rear in 6 lug? Also... is this stuff just decorative or does it really perform well in performance applications? Interested...

It states to narrow the trac width 3/4 compared to the "other" spindles available....only roughly 1/4" per side over drum brakes....

What would the price be for either a 12 and/or 13 rear kit in 6 lug?

Thats correct! Most guys already have disc and even if they did not every other disc kit widens the width 7/8 from drum per side which is a TON! No matter how you slice the bread, having this kit become available was almost exciting to me as a salesman as having a man walk on the moon. On a serious note i have sold 1000s of the "old spindle" and i cant tell you how much more clearence this offers 3/4 of an inch per side in this area is like 10 miles!

Im not sure Im understanding what you are saying here. Are you basically saying with these modular spindles your trac width will be 1/4 inch narrower than the stock with drum trac, and Im guessing stock with disks trucks also?

I already have your disk and spindle kit for my 69 and Im considering switching to the modular spindles. Also considering a set for a 72.

I'm not trying to speak for Jeff, but I don't see a "group buy" working. Take advantage of his discounts and enjoy.

Was a "deal" price ever given for the spindle/brake package? this is getting to be a letdown...

Re: Have you guys seen this new brake kit from CPP? What a dream come true?

Hi Jeff Curious as to what the kit costs for a 72 suburban with 5 lug. I'm almost ready to convert the rear drums over to disc, and I would like the 14" rotor's...

thanks
Shawn

The track with on an OE drum brake truck is 1” narrower (0.5” each side) than an OE disc brake truck. The CPP modular spindle was designed to pull the wheel away from the fender lip as much as possible. Trucks often rub the outer portion of the inner fender.

The change from a drum brake spindle and hub- CPP modular is .25” narrower each side.
The change from an OE disc brake spindle and rotor- CPP modular is .75” narrower each side.
