Personally, I would go with the GMC 4X4. In the end, K10s are worth more than C20s. I am also partial to GMCs. That said, I like the work truck theme you have for the C20. My trucks work. Well, at least they do when I don't have them torn apart.

GMC isn't actually my truck, It just sits in my driveway..If i did end up fixing I would Have to pay my cousin for all the work that they put in it previously.


As for any progress on the C20, None yet.
I can't move the truck into the shop because the Toyota and the quads are in the way..

I can get more pictures up if you want them but i have to find the keys, because someone locked the passanger door and the drivers side desnt open cause the door lock is broken. Bed is full of parts and tires/wheels and the other engine. Soooooo, I'll get to it when i can find the keys

Seems like oldblue has a liking for you lol. I do agree with him although. Really cool to here a HS girl is into old trucks and car shows.

Please post some pictures of the truck. Even if there just pictures of the out side. Would like to see what your looking into building.

I won't be home until after dark all week and then I'm heading to grants pass this weekend and thenn to the dalles on Monday so the best bet is next Tuesday for nor pictures unless everyone really wants pictures.. In which case I will get the good camera and take some just for the fans. Lol

1) I'm partial to chevy's over gmc's...they wear a "bowtie" after all....lol

2) up here in maine with lots of snow, i find 2wd is perfectly fine. 2wd's ride awesome and have less parts to maintain and oil changes are easier. all that 4x4 gear with leaf springs is downright ugly and barely a step up from a 19th century buggy. i love having my 3/4 ton 2wd burb. it has plenty of ground clearance for back woods use but handles the highway. 3/4 tons are rare, especially since everyone is eager to go lifted 4x4 or convert to 1/2 ton and slam it. a nice stock height 2wd is refreshingly simple and clean in comparison and is a great dual purpose setup. you already have it.....enjoy it!

So, I got home early so i thought id go mess with the truck.
I finally go the drivers side door open so i reached over to unlock the passenger side.. it moves like a 1/4'' up and down.. but the mechanism doesnt seem to engage or disengage I tried wd-40 from the out side to maybe free it up but to no avail..

So i just took pictures for you guys.

wow....lots of parts to sort out....you have a good project ahead of you!

awesome that it is a custom camper.....that means it should have a sway bar, shd rear springs and other little bits that will make it extra rugged. don't ask me why everyone buys a 3/4 ton and then is in such a rush to change it to a 1/2 ton. they should just buy a 1/2 ton if that's what they want.

Welcome to the board. My daughters are both still gearheads and twice your age. I'm glad to see your going to keep it a stock ride height driver. I have a 1970 3/4 ton and I pull a toyhauler with it about 5,500lbs.You can find out almost anything you need to know on this site. Like the others have said fix the mechanicals first then you can make it sparkle. Good Luck!

just start trying any old gm keys, theres only like A-G or something. Or take the tumbler out and to a locksmith. I believe theres a # or letter on the tumbler itself linking it to a matching key..lockdoc knows moreabout this than myself!

The rust, from what I'm seeing is mostly surface except for the floor boards,
And no its not a ricer. Nor will it ever be a ricer.

The height wont be stock but it also wont be slammed to the floor.. I think my uncle said something like a couple inches.. which I'm okay with
