Those are absolutely, positively 72 only big block mounts. Worth big bucks too.

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

sat night.
slid motor and trans in. wanted to just remove grill and rediator support. found out you pretty much had to remove front clip
im in the market for those 2 main bolts that hold in the core support to the frame, they were frozen one snapped off the other came off with a sawsall

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

workin till 3:30 am
headers have to come off to slide between the frame, oil filter hit the motor mount and creased, remove valve covers so the lifting chain wouldn't damage them, distributor cap just in case so it wont hit firewall.
fully extended the black bar on the motor lift is not long enough, should have taken the bumper off, instead just set the motor down and re positioned the chain to the front of the block and slid floor jack under the trans.

driver side slid headers up from below no problem, passenger side had to remove spark plugs to squeeze it in

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

Didnt do much to the motor today, got the valve covers back on - the cork gaskets, distributor back on. Still lacking trans mount bolts.

ran the temp gauge into the cab, then i got carried away with the inside of the cab
removed the seat, carpet, dash, radio, a/c ignition... everything in the dash came out in preparation for the upcoming wiring. I have to purchase some rolls of wire for under hood and under dash, an ignition key switch (bought truck without any keys)

next i located placement for the Holley blue electric pump under the cab, and got side tracked checking out the driveshaft

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

WELL.... Not exactly part of the build, but, it is some progress accomplished thru the night plus it does show my truck in the garage in the background.

After this i tried to drive my 78 Bronco over the camry using the hood as a ramp, however it just shoved the camry backwards towards the garage, i forgot to get a pic since i was in the Bronco

the camry was a donor for two others and is going to scrap. my nephew wanted to break things on it so we handed him a shovel and said have at it. It became contagious and the tools upgraded... shovel to garden picks, to axes, to sawsall, to just jumping on it, after the sawsall its only evolution to get other motorized devices involved. The bronco was parked bumper to bumper to it in the driveway so naturally someone said get the keys... I feel better!

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

Not much to update on recently. new radiator donated from a k5, dual electric fans from the above junked camry. currently in the electrical process. stripped insulation from complete wiring harness to re-insulate and re-route with wires hidden. new ignition switch and headlight switch installed, fuel lines plumbed with filter pump and regulator inline. Still searching for a battery tray. sent the camry off to scrap yard. removed cleaned and painted the heater box filled the rusted holes with aluminum a/c tape removed tons of leaves and pine needles about 15 wasp nests from inside front of cab fenders. Measured up the length for driveshaft sent it off to shop to be lengthened. thinking may drive it out of the garage this coming week. heres the only photos i took recently... o yea built a work bench from 2x6 and 4x4 boards and put pegboard on the wall cleaned out the shed for junk with the camry organized all the garden tools re arranged the garage from right to left side to make more room
