Smithmachine - I'm with you man! I don't like em either. You aint cool if your chrome don't shine. We are not talking about old steel wheels with hub caps, those are always bada$$. That's different, it's the new style aluminum wheels that are black. Yeah those, smithmachine, I'm with you man!.. also when you start getting bigger than 20's I think the looks start falling... but that's just my own personal opinions everyone has his own style. I don't like 24's on a 84 Buick Regal, but on a hummer they're okay.

I'm just sort of old school I guess, I like the old chrome bumpers and everything.

That skull wheel is pretty cool though, but I would prefer it to be all chrome and just black out the eyes, nose and teeth.

thats what i was saying, its just seems like a waste to buy new wheels and just go for black. I just think the wheels set the truck right, and black just doesnt do that for me. Again all my opinion, just wondered if i was the only one.

On a case by case basis, but I do own two with black wheels.

Black painted nice like CG's look very nice. Dull "spare wheel" dirty faded black
is nasty.
I kinda like some old Mopars that came with black wheels and chrome lug nuts.

I do recall, way back, having taken the wheel covers off my 69 Impala SS427
because the stock covers were boring. I couldn't afford wheels. gave it a tougher Nascar look (so I thought

) lettered tires helped(?)

I like black wheels, they look good on Jeeps as well...

But the black wheel look isn't new.. after all the factory did it back in the day and Nascar did it too...

We have chrome wheels on everything. Chrome wheels are a timeless favorite IMO. As for black wheels, they look right on certain applications, whether it be the black alloys on a 2005 Vette or a set of black steelies with WWW's on an old school rod...

But opinions are like somthing else that everyone else has...

me personally i hate the whole "donk" and "murdered out" scene. just people trying to be cool cause some rapper did it and they saw it in a magazine or rap video. but to me it depends on the vehicle and rim color. i hate stock rims no matter what vehicle it is that i have(still trying to talk the mrs into letting me replace her factory chrome wheels on her '01 tl). i have chrome 20's on my 94 and they look alright. its when people completely "bling" out their vehicles with any piece of chrome they can get their hands on. my truck has minimal chrome on it and i'm gonna keep it that way. otherwise i usually go for the powder coated rims myself. they just look better and fit better on most vehicles.

Just as the wheels can make the car, the car can make the wheels too. They work on some vehicles, but on others, not so much. All in moderation.

They call it murdered out. Looks good if done right. My cousin has a blown CTSV entirely blacked out. Awesome car.
