How certian are you on the pad on the front of the block
I blew up that photo of the casting date and that would be the worst 5 I have ever seen I have done thousdands of these in the past and man it can be really tricky. To answer your question - yes the numbers are often crooked. Usally not this bad but a human had to change the mold each day to create a nuw date. The numbers on the front of the block are often worse since they used a gang stamp and a hammer to imprint numbers that where changed with every single block being a different code.

Is it necessary to always change the filter of the transmission pan?

Well, year later I wish I put more attention to my gaskets. RTV on the intake is leaking a little, oilpan/rear main is leaking a little (along with the front seal).

I'm having similar problems and after scraping all the gunk off with a razor blade I believe I found the number you're looking for (if you haven't found it already) here's an attached image I hope it helps... you all have been more than helpful for me! My question now is do I need all the numbers?? The bigger ones are easy to make out V0603TYY but the smaller ones are difficult to tell what's going on... it looks like there's two sets 5Z? and 7729? any suggestions??
