Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

you guys know the fact of When you have the money, there isn't a deal to be made!! When you don't have the money, there seems to be a deal on every corner. I had a chance to buy a 81 blazer with 2wd for 2000 bucks. I raised the funds and within two hours of calling the guy to tell him I have the cash, he sold it!! Just my luck

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

I had a really nice 84 that had been in Truckin magazine. I got tired of people saying that is so and so's old truck isn't it and I was looking at spending a significant amount of money to change up a few things so I just sold sold it. I should have kept it.

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

I sorta regret selling this one. I loved this truck, had it 14 yrs. It's had 350tbi,454 carbed, 8.1efi, 350carb sitting in engine bay during my ownership. tranny wise it had sm465 and th350. Axles started out as 10bolt/14bolt semi float with 3.23 gears, then Dana 44/14bolt full float 4.10 gears Detroit Locker, then Dana 60/14 bolt full float 4.56 gears Detroit Locker.
I say I sorta regret selling it 'cause I loved it, but had it looking so good I was afraid to use it as a truck, so it really just sat. I hope the fella that bought it is taking good care of it and enjoying it.

I've had a few that I wish I wouldn't of sold... especially the ones that were paid off. I came close to selling my current 87'... but I always get a gut feeling that I will regret it as well. Decisions decisions when you want something different.

It's funny that the same truck will be mentioned in this thread. Scot and I traded trucks, and this is the first one I have had that is not for sale. I sold a lot co cool stuff when I was younger ('65 GTO, '61 Impala, "81 Trans Am SE), so I plan on keeping this one for a long time. It's funny Scoti has pictures of it working, it's a bit of a garage queen (King, I call it Clifford, like the big red dog) now.

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

My 72 suburban. The body was totally gone and it needed a lot of work to say the least, I had big plans for it but it started having electrical problems and then the old 350 gave out. I was in high school and didn't have the money to fix it so ended up parting it out. It was ugly and everybody made fun of me but I loved it.

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

I was 18 sold my numbers matching 66 el camino. all it needed was a passenger side rear patch and paint. I regret it every day and I want it back pretty bad. I check ebay and some other places every now and then. I still have the vin. I tried to contact the guy I sold it to but his email address has been closed. I sold it to an older gentlemen who was giving it to his grandson who was going to autobody school. So I can atleast think (hope) it was finished right and is bringing someone alot of joy.

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

I have never regretted selling any vehicle. There have been a few that I regretted not buying, though.

I tried to sell my '86 a few years ago. Luckily no one wanted to buy it.

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

I don't regret selling my 77, because I got my focus and it has been a GREAT car... I just wish I could have kept the 77 AND bought the focus.

Even having my '78, which made my 77 look like a fried turd, I still wish I had that truck sometimes. And there again, I want both the 77 and the 78 at the same time. lol

I STILL regret selling the 77 2wd Blazer I had...with woodgrain sides and the cleanest stock interior I have ever had on an older vehicle like that.

Yea ,I agree .Ialso love the 67-72's , but the cost & availablity of parts makes it not as much fun as redoing a square . & really after its all said & done , A square done right can rival a lot of 67-72's IMO.

Yeah, but it is in good hands so you shouldn't have too much remorse.

I still miss my 82 Blazer....

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

That is a real sweet ride Trixter99, Looks like the BrandyWine twin to my old blue '87. Here are some shots of a rough 86 k30 I had, Looked rough but was really a great truck. Some days I still wish I had that one too. I Definitely was not afraid to work that one. Had a 6.2 diesel with th400/np205 when I got it. Swapped out the th400 (transmission had a crack in the case and leaked like a sieve) for 700r4/np241 combo. After the 700r4 went in I regularly achieved 18mpg during summer months and once got 20mpg. On winter mix fuel it was typically 17mpg after the 700r4. With the th400 it ranged between 13 and 15 depending on fuel and time of the year.

Re: Ever sold a truck and regretted it?

My first Squarebody: I can think of a few trucks I wish I still had, but my girlfriend had to bring up my 78 2wd Blazer last night. It was fully-loaded without any trim on the outside. A loaded "plain Jane I guess you might say.

Its up in Las Vegas now.
