Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

Finally .... finally completed the fuel pump & SS line install on the '87 crew. I had previously completed the bed mounted fuel tank prior to the cold/snow here & was delayed for it.

60 degrees to day & a little effort made it complete. Wiring will come on the next decent day then it's on to the final work - MSD wiring & firing!

Stay tuned ...

Master cylinder went so I replaced it. Good thing for lifetime warranty.

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

I got my wheels back from my buddy that powder coated them for me (15x8 6 hole rallyes) ...can't wait to get the tires for them! Then got the new edelbrock 600 installed and running great, q-jet is out for now. Also checked timing while I was at it...to find out that the vacuum advance isn't working at all due to internal problems in the distributor...

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

We had a sad weekend. The lady that taught both my daughters in the 1st grade and later became a good friend of my wife's was murdered last Thursday by her husband. The scumbag shot her in the home in front of their 9 year old daughter. My wife had babysat the 9 year old many years ago. Kelly was an awesome human being that touched many lives. Kelly had left teaching to be a stay at home Mom to her 9 and 2 year old children.

To those of you with daughters please tell them what I told mine. If you EVER feel threatened in a relationship, walk away and come home or go to another safe place.

To those of you that talk to God (I do), I ask that you make contact now, those kids will need help the rest of their lives.

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

Started repairing bodywork. Previous owner used rattle can primer (or paint?) so all of the filler was basically exposed to the elements and is now cracking out. I started on one spot by grinding out all the filler and welding up the holes the had used to pull out the panel. Then I worked it with a hammer and dolly, here is the result, not quite finished yet...it's a tricky corner.

after: (no body filler, still needs a little hammer work)

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

I went by Vintage Air to take a look at my truck. They are using it to develop a new Gen IV kit for our trucks.

It was weird seeing someone else working on it. They had the dash pad off, and were doing some work up under the dash. They also had all the A/C components removed under the hood.

The good news is I will have a great A/C system in place this summer, and it isn't costing me much. The bad news is that they will be keeping it for 2-3 months. I am in the process of renovating a house to move into, and I have never needed my truck more in the 10 years I have owned it than I do now! It will be worth it when it is all over, though.

We may have just missed each other. Scott and I dropped my truck off just before noon. You're right, it will be sweet when they are done.

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

Nope, wasn't mine. We pulled my truck down there on Friday. They had the condenser mounted in yours when we were there Friday, though. I imagine mine will still be there when you pick your truck up. It's a really low orange '74.

Like the paint job!! Was thinking of doing something pretty similar only with red and charcoal silvery/black color.
