What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

THis week was bad for me. We had alot of snow ( again) and i ended up spinning out after being cut off by some idiot and i had to veer into a snow bank. While extracating myself from the snow bank i ripped off the front bumper on my daily driver. I kinda got disgusted at that point so i went to a shop and had them re attach the bumper then drove to a car dealer and bought myself a new car. The toyota was showing signs of wear at 60K and I was never truly estatic over it so i got myself a mini SUV. I know im gonna hear poop for this but i bought a 2011 Ford Escape and i gotta tell you, i love it. Its also 4wd and a four cylinder so it should get decent mileage
This purchase tho destroyed my chances of getting the second 82 GMC so i guess you win some and lose some

How about you all?

Installed my new-to-me original dash pad, also threw one of my tach clusters in my truck. Went to LMC and picked up a new exhaust for the truck and a brand new passenger door.

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

Got my mud tires mounted and bolted on, got the engine running in the burb (installed last weekend), topped of all the fluids, and took it for it's maiden voyage to the end of the street and back, twice.

Not a huge amount actually done, but a pretty major milestone in the build, for me anyway.

Are you guys going to get the same amount of snow, if any. As we are getting up here? Latest forecast is 12+".

During the week i replaced my oil pan gasket thinking that was the cause of the leak turns out to be the rear main seal. Was going to change it out today but it is raining. Will be changing it tomorrow, and also will pick up my wheels from the powder coater tomorrow.

12+ inches expected in Mid-MO including ice... is it summer yet?

Replaced the water heater and spent a little money on truck stuff.

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

I installed the rear inner bumper brackets for the sport bumper & a new front air-dam. I might try & get the door panels off sometime this week to install the 'door pull delete' trim plates & swap in a new pwr window motor for one of the doors.

Bucket seats all mocked up (inner brackets located, bucket seat holes drilled in the floor), wiring tidied up, just about ready to put the carpet in and re-install the seats and console. Getting closer

Welcome to the forum thecodeman.

Managed to get my pool cleaner apart and parts ordered for it. I ran calls all weekend so I didn't touch my truck.

Re: What did you get done 1/30/11 edition

finished the mock up stage to the road testing stage of the rear disc converion using C5 corvette calipers, rotors and parking brake.

next weekend if the weather is good to be under the truck, I should have the e-brake hooked up

then I will do some parts ordering for a posi since I inspected the spider gears and found some chipped teeth ... posi, gears and a install kit. unsure what I want, True track or regular eaton posi.
