Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Chapter#4 - Getting ready to run.
44 year old truck's don't give up parts easy. PB blaster....Cut...Grind........PB blaster...Cut...Grind....U bolts finally came out of trailing arms. Installed new carpet and sil plates, cleaned set of buddy buckets. Does anybody make the correct darker carpet like in the photo, All I see forsale is light blue like the newer one I installed not the original carpet color? New wiper blades, headlights, tail light harness, heater core installed. Ordered poly trailing arm/track arm bushings for axle install. Drive shaft came out as well gas tank and all gas lines yanked. Headlights turn signals and rest of wiring is working properly, all ready to go when new engine is installed. ETA: 6 weeks... just looking to get it mechanically sounds for a reliable driver. Board sanding & Paint can wait till next year.

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Helper springs forsale. 80)~
Never load a truck enough to justify the weight or ride of a 3/4 ton. I am keeping all the original 3/4 parts just in case it goes back.

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
It's a C10 now, rear axle swapped out and installed poly bushings. Front cross member dropped out for 1/2 ton just before I needed to head out of town to SoCal for two weeks. I ordered the parts for engine rebuild set of rod bearings, petronix to replace the points, new cam and lifters, oil pump and gasket set. Hope to have back together late next week after I return home next weekend.
Fairly cheap, Fun & Easy build for a driver..... At least till next years frame off resto and other mods... Will post more pics in the coming days.

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Couple more pics.
New stainless brake lines installed starting from the back end working towards front. Needed to swap outer tie rod ends from stock power steering linkage. 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton to match spindles, definitely a big size difference. Time to order new coils and shocks to drop this baby just a little bit...........

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
I went over to the original owners house since for a couple days of helping him out with things he could not accomplish being 78 years old. Made a good friend that is very happy to see the truck lately and let him take it for a drive when finished.
Helping older people out is paying old age karma in advance....

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Been in Santa Barbara for weeks so no progress, nothing ever goes as planned. =0/
Did order a set of BFG radial TA's for the 15X8 rims.
