Re: 76' K-10 Stepside Need Some Help?

Hi i know this thread is nice and dead but i have some questions. I just picked up a 75 cheyenne k10 stepside and ive been curious about the strip package it has. Unfortunately it no longer has its spid sheet. I see alot of info about the 76 sport trucks. My truck looks identical to them with only a few differences. Its a 75 for one, its a cheyenne not a Scottsdale and the list doesnt show green as an available color. Was the sports truck an option in 75? Im actually in the process of converting it to 2wd and lowering it

He said it does not.

Cool looking truck "neighbor". Always interesting to figure out what you can about the history. If it's not factory, it looks like somebody did a good job of getting a factory set of stripes and putting them on. Whatever the case, it's pretty neat.

Thank you. I think its pretty cool tho its pretty rusty. Got it pretty cheap out in Tacoma actually. Sold the 4wd stuff for more then i bought it for. I got a nice clean 73 cab and front clip but i just love the green and stripes.

There may be more work than the pictures show, but it looks like you could go panel by panel and fix the rust. Wesco could mix you matching green to paint the affected parts, and you could just buy white vinyl in sheets to cut to size and replace whatever stripes you disturbed. It might look a bit like a work in progress and wouldn't have the shine of a full resto repaint, but it would still look really cool and you could do a little bit at a time while you still had it on the road. Just my two cents, after getting too far into projects and having them sit for years. If you find another one like that, let me know would you?
