Re: 1966 Chevy 327 short block rebuild

"Also dropped oil pan and power washed and acid bathed the interior" the interior was referring to the oil pan... Bottom line is I posted this to get feedback...so I appreciate all the input... Thanks again,
Duane

You never gave that casting number before my comment, but the head numbers still do not "match" the block, nor each other. I guess what you meant by "ALL ORIGINAL" was that it is all GM castings?

You are wrong about your definition of what "short block rebuild" is. A short block rebuild means the block assembly minus the heads. With the heads is a long block. The cam/bearings,lifters,push rods, valve guides, valve seals, and checking valves, valve springs, retainers is a top end rebuild. If just the heads are done then it's a head job. If new pistons aren't used on a short or long block job then it's an overhaul. I just don't see where anything is "rebuilt". I'm not trying to mess your sale up. But,I think we all deserve an accurate description. You are fairly new here and I just feel,as a member who's been around a while,I'd help you mellow into place here with letting you know how we like to deal on this site. This place is like a tight knit community where we all like to help one another out, that's all.
By all original I meant all the internal block components so yes i admit when I am wrong...sorry to be unintentionally misleading... A short block rebuild I had wrong...thanks for clarifying... Top end rebuild it is....Head Job...and such. With new umbrella and valve seals.. .Sorry about that one... Once again thanks for the input... I did not mean to intentionally promote it as something its was not... I am still learning....

Re: 1966 Chevy 327 short block rebuild

Amen... I am 29... I don't claim to "know" it all or be perfect...I am still learning. I understand both your perspectives. I feel I accurately and thoroughly described the work accurately... I made boo boo on the specs of a short block rebuild.. .I admit that goof... The rest of the comments really felt like cheap shots and attacks... I DO KNOW how to read numbers...even if they are 7 digits... Thanks for everyone's time

Your proof of what the heads are off of also shows that they have puny 1.72 intake valves, yet you list 1.94. Better double check those as well.
