$1200PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE!!!! ALL ORIGINAL ERA correct besides top end performer intake of course.60 pass head 64cc and 69 head 64cc..Rare 1966 Chevy 327 top end rebuild. Top end rebuild consisting of umbrella seals and valve seals, push rods and valve job. 1.5 exh. 1.72 int. New pro comp hydraulic lifters, power washed and degrease intake valley, cylinder heads, and intake. New Edlebrock head gaskets, new Edlebrock intake manifold gaskets with Edlebrock Performer series 2101 intake. Chrome Edlebrock valve covers and Chrome Edlebrock air breather. Chrome tightening pegs with spark plug wire guide rails for very clean look. New spark plugs. Also dropped oil pan and power washed and acid bathed theinterior of oil pan making it like brand new. Painted Oil pan black with POR-15. Painted heads black as well with high-temp paint and baked on. Engine block power washed and heavily degrease then restored to original Chevy orange. ALL cylinders read strong 150 psi on compression test [COLOR="Red"]Block vin# VI228YH. Date casting L8 6. So if you had a 1967 Chevy built in Jan. or Feb. 1968 this could be the matching era correct engine to top off full end resto. Block casting# 3892657. Heads casting# 3774682. [/COLOR]Runs like brand new. Also have Holley 650 cfm carb would negotiate to go with. Long style water pump as well with flywheel. This also includes stock distributor with new rotor and new ignition module(have spare).

What's rebuilt about this engine? I don't see anything about a rebuild or overhaul in your description. Are these rare? If so,just the short block since it has 350 heads,right?

I did not power wash the internals... The oil pan was dropped to remove all old sludge deposits and you make it sound like I dropped it and power washed the combustion chambers or something... The heads were power washed and valves lapped and checked for seat. The push rods were replaced and the lifters... I used a dial indicator to check for spring wear and they were cleaned and reused.
As far as the heads go...yes they are not same year as block but that is still referring to era correct as in they were used on 327 blocks in the 60's,,,they are both 64 cc...so they run fine on the 327 and I may stand corrected but the 350 was not even an option in 1960 so how could it be a 350 head. Oh yeah also new spring retainers and yes I would consider that a short block rebuild just not... i have also done complete long block rebuilds with hot tanks... and magnaflux for cracks and such... Just in case a short block rebuild does not refer to "small block" it is a term used for top end rebuild... The long block rebuild is complete overhaul with reground crank, bore, rings...etc...etc.. I am sure everyone is aware of this though... I explained that the point of "era correct" was the significance of the block casting date,,the YH suffix on the vin which designates it as a truck motor. Which means from the casting date of L8 6..it was built In December of 1966 which would put it right in line for a 67 GM truck that had a production in Jan or Feb of 1967. Oh yeah also... When I washed the intake it the block was COMPLETELY sealed off from the moisture... Once again it is not like I took the heads off,,,the intake manifold...the oil pan...and strated spraying away... The engine ran fine from the get but rear seal on manifold had been leaking for quite some time when I got it so started with replacing that gasket and this is where I ended up... Hope I clarified a little.. Any more questions or constructive critic will be more than welcome.

I was not even going to give myself the pleasure of knowing I am right but hey...you asked for it...And this goes out to anyone and including my opinion. When I "know" something to be true,,,I have seen it in a documentary...(scinece channel,discovery, speed, overhaulin',rides, GM EMPLOYEES etc.. This goes for everything and all knowledge I surprisingly "claim" to have. I am very opinionated myself,, but when I state and opinion (how I feel or think about something) I always clarify by stating" in my opinion...or I think" so the two don't get mixed up... So with all that aside and opinions put in proper order here ae the facts....just as I already stated...I did this about a year ago...by doing research...which solidifies my claim as facts...

Duane,I'm not trying to make a stink,but I feel the integrity of this parts sale section relies on honest and accurate information. I said 350 heads because the left one has the alternator mounting boss. So ok,it could be a 1969 327 head. But,not a '67 truck,like the block. You never gave that casting number before my comment,but the head numbers still do not "match" the block,nor each other. I guess what you meant by "ALL ORIGINAL" was that it is all GM castings?

You are wrong about your definition of what "short block rebuild" is. A short block rebuild means the block assembly minus the heads. With the heads is a long block. The cam/bearings,lifters,push rods,valve guides,valve seals,and checking valves,valve springs,retainers is a top end rebuild. If just the heads are done then it's a head job. If new pistons aren't used on a short or long block job then it's an overhaul. I just don't see where anything is "rebuilt". I'm not trying to mess your sale up. But,I think we all deserve an accurate description. You are fairly new here and I just feel,as a member who's been around a while,I'd help you mellow into place here with letting you know how we like to deal on this site. This place is like a tight knit community where we all like to help one another out,that's all.

Well if you wanna read what's in the black and white, your very first post says you pulled the pan and, acid and power washed the interior of the motor.... Then you come back and say you didn't pull the pan and power wash it!!!!! So guess what buddy I don't believe one word about anything you say..... Good luck with your sale$!!!!!!

I believe he meant the inside of the oil pan. and i don't think there is a reason for anyone to get to worked up about this add ( mind you I often forget how perfect everyone is) people make mistakes and people interperate things differently.

I said 350 heads because the left one has the alternator mounting boss. So ok,it could be a 1969 327 head. But,not a '67 truck,like the block. You never gave that casting number before my comment,but the head numbers still do not "match" the block,nor each other. I guess what you meant by "ALL ORIGINAL" was that it is all GM castings? You are wrong about your definition of what "short block rebuild" is. A short block rebuild means the block assembly minus the heads. With the heads is a long block. The cam/bearings,lifters,push rods,valve guides,valve seals,and checking valves,valve springs,retainers is a top end rebuild. If just the heads are done then it's a head job. If new pistons aren't used on a short or long block job then it's an overhaul. I just don't see where anything is "rebuilt". I'm not trying to mess your sale up. But,I think we all deserve an accurate description. You are fairly new here and I just feel,as a member who's been around a while,I'd help you mellow into place here with letting you know how we like to deal on this site.
