Man...that didn't sound like a PJ. Mine is a PJ noisey. I know that recording volume quality isn't the greatest on the little cameras. Pete Jackson is by far the best for producing a "whine" as apposed to some of these others that sound like bad bearings.

I had a Pete Jackson in my 71 and loved it. My engine builder won't touch one though. He used to call my 71 " Corn Sheller" and wouldn't mess with it if it was running because he hates the sound that much. I didn't have a radio, just a delete plate. All I needed was that whine and the 3 inch exhaust note. I about went deaf in the left ear driving in the fast lane on the interstate up against the concrete dividers.

Not True - I challenge you to find hard evidence of this from any reliable source in writing.
The switch to belts was done for several reasons - ease of maintenance - light weight - ease of tuning - and greater HP due to reduced rotating mass.
Gear drives are actually better at high RPM than a double roller - if you have ever watched a chain going around a pair of gears you know what chain slap looks like - it sucks power and affects timing.

For a street motor a gear drive is only about choice - it will not make any difference one way or another for no more than the average street motor really does.

Hmmm....and I thougt that was what my Grandma said would make me go bline. I can see just fine today!!!!!

I thought this too but after listening to it on a computer with much better speakers than my laptop, its pretty true to life. Could it be the difference between a big and small block? I saw in the other thread with your video yours is a big block right?

I dont remember the part number right off hand, but it is a PJ, I checked it out before I bought it to make sure it wasnt off name junk. He also had the box it came in and the picture on summit matched FWIW. The engine has been together almost 9 yrs now and I had the gear drive about 1 yr before install and he had it probably a year before that. I'm planning on taking it out, but will probably hold on to it since you can get them anymore....
