You don't have to ruin your cab the hood hinges bolt to the fenders on the older clip, so all you will have are holes in the cowl from the 80's hinges. Come spring I will get pics for you. It is currently sitting in the drive with an 8 foot plow mounted to it.

What kind of plow are you using? Did you Fab up some mounts to work with the lift?

Re: Project Weed Wacker

I am using a western and yes i fabbed up a mount to make up for the 4" lift. I took two 12" peices of 3x6 1/4 wall tubing and layed it up agianst the bottom of the frame, then drilled two 1/2" holes in each one and bolted them up. After that I took the C channel that the blade mounts to and welded it to the bottom of the tubing. I then took the upper pump support bracket and welded it to the top of the tubing. Once i had everything where I wanted it i used 6" wide 3/8" platefor the side supports using the factory bumper / tow hook bolt holes for the bolts on the frame and 2 more in the tubing. I then welded the side support to the tubing making it one unit. In all there are 16 1/2-13 grade 8 bolts and a lot of weld holding it on.

If you need any more pics I can get them my next day off.

Re: Project Weed Wacker

Ok, today I found a deal on craigslist I could not pass up. All New Genuine GM loaded calipers/ brackets and e-brakes off an '05 2500hd for $150. I am going to try and retrofit them to the Dana 60 / 14 bolt that are in the truck now. Since I already have the '04 rear axle sitting in the garage, I figured worse case I would have spares.
