Re: Sal's '55 Chevy "Public Disturbance"
I have installed several Heidts IFS kits and have a Heidts in my 52. If correctly installed, you will not have any ride issues with a IFS. When selecting a IFS, stick with a good brand like Scott's, Heidts, TCI, etc.

Re: Sal's '55 Chevy "Public Disturbance"
I just put mine in this weekend and it fit pretty good, i had to trim about 5/8" off the inside of each frame rail. I like it sitting on top because it doesnt hang low at all. the rear cross member is bolted in so if the tank needs to come out it can slide out the back. My bed floor is raised 2" so theres lots of room there. $90.00 delivered from ebay with sender and all.

Re: Sal's '55 Chevy "Public Disturbance"
I think it all comes down to your preference. the aftermarket parts are great and there are tons on the road, the donor route gives you the ability to buy parts anywhere in the country for cheap. The newer ones like vette setups are going to handle better than a 30 year old donor but the price is better on the Monte or camaro clips. Best part is that there are plenty of both on this site. The red one in your post is mine and i have access to a guy in town who has installed 40 of them, it was an easy choice for me.
