Re: Let's see the chop tops!
I've seen lots of chopped stuff on the olders street rods like the model A or maybe something like the 49 Mercury and they are cool. With these trucks I tend to like them just the way they are.
There used to be a 71 around my area that was chopped and it was imo. A mild chop is okay I guess. |

Re: Let's see the chop tops!
I tend to like a little heavier on the cut, mine is 3 3/4" at the rear, with the top tipped foward a tad(to straighten the lines @ the drip rails), & the pillars are laided back. try this link... http://www.webshots.com/search?query...nel=community+

Re: Let's see the chop tops!
Hey why didn't you just take two fenderwells and stich them together instead of adding the piece so you didn't have 2 seams?
'course your avatar does say fab til you puke! |

Re: Let's see the chop tops!
It was a budget deal(lots of work tho!) I decided agianst the big rollers on the rear, & has since gone back to stock tubs. Every now & then I still run her to the lumberyard, & haul back 4x8 sheets, & that didnt work so good with the 5" stretch in the tubs. How much rubber are you running under your toy? crazyL

Re: Let's see the chop tops!
I have just gone through a 2 inch chop on my 67. I dont like the trucks with the huge chops but the oem is just a little tall from side profile. I still have a long way to go but check out my thread

Re: Let's see the chop tops!
I only like it if it is subtle on these trucks. Now a Model T or some older vehicle is cool...but I love the lines of the 67-72 as they are...the blue and red ones are subtle enough to where they look good.

Re: Let's see the chop tops!
I believe this truck is from IF customs, one of my all time favorites. This truck had some pretty crazy dragging videos.
