Re: RINC's 54 Chevy 3100
Fuel cell still needs to go in .... not sure how we will hook up the cap on it yet.
Seat an steering wheel needs to be worked out. I am a wittle big guy so its tight for me in there. Not sure yet of the seat/wheel combo I'll go with. We are not desided yet if we gonna run hub caps on the rims. The black powercoated rims looks better than i imagined. Its still on the later model 261cc 6cyl/4 speed tranny, closed rearend, i-beam front. Its gonna be a SLOW cruiser

Re: RINC's 54 Chevy 3100
Gas tank in. Fuel lines ran. New lining on the shoes an drums turned.
Dropped off new front wheel bearing today. One problem though ....... how do we run the filler neck up to the wood in the bed ? Have not noticed that detail of how its been down in most build threads on here.

Got corner windows ? The tailgate is getting paint detailed around the Chevy letters. The inside of the cab will get the paint touched up an the hood will get clear coated in the near future ...... I Cant Wait

Re: RINC's 54 Chevy 3100
I stumbled across this one in the patina thread, glad I did. Sweet little ride you have here. I'm quite jealous. Hope you get to start ruining soon.

Oh snap ! Sorry y'all I aint been keeping up with my thread.
No it didnt make the last Goodguys show. I hoping for the next one in a couple months. Updates ...... Truck has been rewired. Switched over to an alternater an converted to 12v. New belts hoses an any external gaskets replaced. Carb an starter have been rebuilt. Just got a message today that the clutch needs replaced Dino ..... the shop is Brickhaus Restorations. Its in Tempe off of Curry rd. Tevor Reis is my buddy there. The kid is good ! He is a body guy but decided to tackle the mechanical work on my truck also.

Re: RINC's 54 Chevy 3100
Super nice truck from the start! I`m glad i decided to venture out of the 73 to 87 area for once wish trucks here in the ozarks would be that solid, and love the fact you just clear coated and left patina.

Re: RINC's 54 Chevy 3100
It's back.
Been putting miles on it driving to work with short trips to downtown Phoenix thrown in. No problems have cropped up. Looking forward to lower temps an the car show season around here. Some recent random pics.

Re: RINC's 54 Chevy 3100
Whelp drove the heck out of this mostly original truck. Had a Patrick's 3:55 R&P installed at AZ Differential along with other repairs Nate's shop did. Motor finally started letting go. Has a bad knock in it.
Through my Dad having Nate's shop go through the rear axle of his '71, Nate told my Dad he had a couple trucks for sale. One turned out to be a 69 C-20 with after market A/C. Bought it. Still wrenching on it, though now driving it daily to work. Plans for the 54 ... I sold my '72 K-20, now we have more room in our garage. We plan on doing the motor rebuild ourselves. T-5 transmission with maybe with a S-10 rear axle. Looking into disc brakes on the straight axle. Still trying for a low budget build. Less reliant on friends shops. More of my own elbow grease, less opening of my wallet. The 69 will be the tow rig.
