Re: Post Pics of your 1960-1966 Chevrolet & GMC Scale Model Pickups
I've got a Revel fleetside that I need to finish. I chopped the front clip off and cut out the trans crossmember to get it low. I had a '53 Vette crossmember that was the right width so it'll get grafted back onto the frame. I picked up the wheels (Pegasus brand I think?)at a model car show a couple years ago, had to narrow the front mounting surfaces to get them to tuck.
First mock up after cutting the front clip, inner fenders, and trans crossmember out. Still too high, especially the rear. Fenderwells will have to be cut and raised/widened . 'Vette crossmember mocked up. Sits better, still need to modify the rear fenderwells. Also stole the motor from the 'Vette model but it'll get replaced with an LSx with four webers just like my real truck will have.

Still a work in progress. I need to pretty much redo the frame, and take my time. I was rushing, and it is pretty apparent! LOL

Re: Post Pics of your 1960-1966 Chevrolet & GMC Scale Model Pickups
They all came from Modelhaus. Unfortunately the tools wore out and they aren't interested in making new ones.
On the plus side I had a few extra resin parts left over, and I handed them over to another member that is working with a professional resin caster to see if he is willing to put them back in production. If all goes well at least these pieces may again become available. Here’s what’s being worked on: 1960-65 Grille: 1966 Grille: 1960-61 Chevy hood: 1960-61 GMC hood: 1962-66 GMC hood: Radiator and air deflectors: And the stock front bumper: I'll post more info as it becomes available.

Re: Post Pics of your 1960-1966 Chevrolet & GMC Scale Model Pickups
Done about 10 years ago when Modelhaus sold GMC stuff. This would be a 3000 series GMC equivelent to a Chevy C40. Could use a V6 emblem.

Here are a bunch of early assembly Ebay photos I’ve collected. Amazing how many similarities there were in the build styles. Of course in 1962 most were probably slapped together by other inexperienced teenage baby boomers like me:

Re: Post Pics of your 1960-1966 Chevrolet & GMC Scale Model Pickups
When my first GMC model went together 15 years ago it had black wheels and kit hubcaps:
Within a few weeks it was wearing 5 spoke mags and slicks: I got tired of all three models wearing the same wheels and tires, and coincidentally needed the mags and slicks for a new gasser model I’m building. So I recently decided it was time to switch back to factory rims. I was going to install another set of black wheels, but since I had the original ivory colored rims from the 1961 truck, I used those instead along with a new set of 57 Chevy passenger car hubcaps: The wheel color doesn’t match the grille/bumper, so I may repaint everything the same color down the road. The bedroom lighting didn’t help much either, but overall I really like the change.

Here is where I got mine.
http://www.modelhaus.com/ IF you are doing a GMc you willneed to order the hood, tailgate incert and grill bar. I took the '60 Chevy kit and modified the dask to one hu,mp and changed the layout. I'm also building a V-6 out of a Y block. Jake
