Re: SM-420 shift boot
Hi J. Glad you started all these boot questions, it makes me read and learn , LOL ! On the 1961, it a K10 Panel truck with 30,000 OG miles and the boot was on it when I got the truck. I will be posting pics very shortly. Jon

Re: SM-420 shift boot
Heres a few pictures of the 1961 K10 Panel. Boot looks like its been on there awhile but I have my doubts that this is correct. If you look close you can see the seal coming through the floor that I posted earlier.

Re: SM-420 shift boot
Heres the floor in my 65 K10 32,000 OG miles. Shows trans seal from underneath. No boot on trans and the transfercase boot and retaining ring are under the matt where the 1960-1963 is on top of the matt.

Re: SM-420 shift boot
Have a pretty much unmolested 64 GMC with factory sm420, no boot just foam seal that is placed over trans top cover before it is installed. Most have degraded and turned to ooze. There are no drilled or punched holes on the trans hump either , further evidence of no boot ever being installed.
