Re: Valve covers... What do you guys think?
of the ones pictured, I'd go with the cast aluminum ones - not the chrome. Cast is much less likely to leak when over-tightened, which seems to almost always happen with steel covers. Personally, my absolute favorite valve cover is the old vette cast aluminum finned covers - the ones that say Corvette on them, not the 70's versions. Beware the very early year ones have staggered mounting holes, ask me how I know! ha!
Regardless, your eng compartment looks very well done - really like it. Also, btw, I prefer the solid air cleaner lid in the lower set of pics, but I'm sure the open top flows much better. |

Re: Valve covers... What do you guys think?
Thanks everyone for all the responses! It seems the consensus is the cast aluminum ones in the first two pictures.

I'm not a fan of engine dipped in chrome. The aluminum with chrome letters is a good touch.

Paint the cast covers to match the heads and block, leave the letters on them shiny to match everything else under the hood and then stand back in awe of your beautiful engine bay!
IMHO, those cast GMPP covers are the best looking valve covers ever made, just ahead of the stamped steel 'script' valve covers from back in the day.

Re: Valve covers... What do you guys think?
I like the aluminum ones better, personally. Not much of a chrome guy myself

Re: Valve covers... What do you guys think?
Aluminum is better. Gotta break up the chrome a little here and there.
