Re: wow, what a find
On most disc conversions the stock 6 lugs will hit the brake caliper. By moving them out 1" I can now run the stock wheels, and best of all stock hubcaps. The stock wheels center off the hub, not off the lugs. That's why the "mock" hub on the spacers. Wheels run nice and true now.
Oh, and thank you BOMP, and Low Elco for the comments. |

Re: wow, what a find
I too like those spacers... any chance you have the templates for those on some form of share ware, or printable media?
My buddy that does mill work like that could make them for me (quicker and easier if he had all the tech work already done). If so, I think I would like to get him to make me a set, unless you happen to have made a spare set you would let go of ..... Ok, I am going to submit this reply and then start staring at my inbox... Really nice work

McMurphy
I suppose I could make more of the spacers, haven't really thought of that. Be a little hard to send them to the north pole though. |

Re: wow, what a find
Great machining skills.
Love what you have done. My old Transit bus had 35mm spacers that also went from 5x165 to 5x205 so that I could run traditional VW Split window pattern wheels on my Ford. When I built the Teardrop caravan I had a pair of 4stud to 5stud 35mm adaptors made up. Money and time well spent. I guess its another way to get 5 studs onto a 6 stud truck?? Re: wow, what a find
If you can drive that you can drive anything. I've had two vehicles with it in the past. Back in the day where I lived, the center of town had a hill going up to the 3 way stop (too small for traffic lights, or shoes). I remember an old farmer pulling up in his 3 on the tree truck and jamming the linkage. Since he was on the hill the linkage wouldn't unjam, so it took 6 of us to push from behind til we heard "POP" as the linkage went back in place.
Awesome cool factor though Posted via Mobile Device |
