Thanks for the compliments!!

Hey, how strong do you think the stock 3spd on the tree tranny is in this old truck? Should it be something im thinking about building up after the turbo install, I don't want to get rid of the 3spd. on the tree, its one of my fav parts.

The stock mc318 3 speed will not handle tons of punishment. If you want a bulletproof 3 speed, find a borg warner t-16. These are full synchronized 3 speeds that GM used behind many big block applications. Same length trans and with some minor mods, should still be able to use a column shift. I have pics of the t-16 in my build thread if you need them for reference. They have a 9 bolt side cover.

Do you know what a decent t16 should go for?

Re: 1966 Retired Farm Truck

I see them complete and useable for around $300-$500. Keep eyes peeled on craigslist and ebay....where they normally pop up. Last one I saw was real nice and was $350 plus $80 for the ride.

Heres a couple of pics of mine....as you can tell from the pics, its a large case 3 speed. I also converted to hydraulic clutch. The 9 bolt side cover will be your 1st give away and of coarse you'll see T-16-X on the main case.

If you would like to, I can't wait to start putting the turbo in. I'm in ohio. Going to have to wait until end of may to start tearing into it tho. Due to school this semester.
