what seems to be working for me right now is to focus on one aspect of the truck. if the crappy bumper has been bugging me,
i will yank it apart and work on that one part. not the doors, not the brakes, not the new chrome goddies i want, just concentrate
on that one piece and make it as nice as i can and then reinstall it.
then i stand back and admire my handy work and how much better it looks now. small victories. it's what works for me right now. Happy truckin,

Stateamind: You could always donate your 67-68 parts to me. (Just teasing) I already know I am going to be frustrated doing my truck. I will be doing it alone with the help of this board and not knowing much about what I am doing.
I will be spending more money then is needed as I buy the wrong stuff and mess things up. I am going to break everything down into very small projects and take A LOT of before and after pictures that I have in an album. I don't care if it's something as small as putting on a seat cover I will have before and after pictures. I can go through that photo album when I am taking a break away from the truck for whatever reason and see that I can do it and I am making progress. Just what I feel works for me.
This will be the very first restoration I am going to attempt. Could also be my last. My dad ( who passed away a few years back) wanted and waited for his 39' chevy and never did manage to get his dream ride. I am going for this one and not looking back. I hope it is going to be a good, fun and learning exp. If not at least I tried. Took me a few days to even get the wiper arms off. LOL So this should be fun. My dad was mechanicly inclined but wasn't around much. I hope this will come natural. Heheh...who am I kidding.

Okay, here is what make me refreshed. When I watch tv programs on cars that Chip Foose designs and builds. That make me get off my butt and do something. Man, seeing the incredible detail and beauty put into those cars...oh man, inspiration. Those shows make me want to go to work on my truck so bad. Other things that make me want to work on my truck are looking at other completed trucks.

The "before and after pic" idea works real well for me.

It keeps me motavated to keep adding pics to the album and reminds me of the progress that has been made. Sometimes we forget about the 'little things'...but they do add up fast.

My body man is working all next week on it. I should see some great progress over the next week or so.

I have been there a few times, but it will pass. I never touched mine for about 6 months, but then I would start picturing the finished product in my mind and get excited about it again. The board members here are a great source of inspiration as well. Sometimes it's hard to keep motivated, but just walk away from it for a while. It will all come back to you

Hey Buddy,

Don't Worry I Wrecked My 87 Burban so bad the other day and I was just joking. I had kinda started to have a hard time knowing what to do next on my truck. Now I have a whole other project to fix (if it can be fixed) All I have to worry about now is not losing my Drivers Licence.

I wish I have a Ford Lightning Pickup Right now Man I wish I had a Firefly to drive. A Baby Blue Wagon would Rock

I lost some interest in my truck here lately. But I do other things that make me want to work on the truck. Here is what I did two weeks ago, cleaned the garage out. There is a truck in there and I needed to find it again. It is totally crazy how much s**t you can collect in one year. But i found the truck. :p

and when I have tottaly lost interest in everything, I take my savage 21 r/c truck apart. :p it's lots of fun, but it only takes like an hour to put back togeather then I go out and run it.

72MARIO, Ya the whole truck is in there. well the cab and bed are at work in the barn safe and sound. I have to get the frame put back togeather. I'm broke so it will be a while.

I look at it as a Hobby not a Job,it gets done when ever,no rush,I find checking out all the great rides on here,and following along with the different projects everyone is doing here,be it lifting a 4x4 or doing air bags,its all good....

No disrespect intended I thought it was a comment about me! and my ride right now! I love the 67-72 Chevy as much as most and have had quite a few of them I do love these trucks! And had to sell my beloved K5 2wd Blazer! Which Chevy fatman now has!
When I can I will have another K5 2wd and will make her even badder then the L.
