Re: Goldie coming along

I hate to answer for Curt and his guys, but Jim ask if I could explain. The bags are in the stock location were the springs use to be, with a 2in drop block. There is a pipe notch installed. Maybe the notch is little higher then yours. His tire size is smaller also. I know that doesn't raise the rear end but it gets the truck lower to the ground. There were no pictures taken of the install. Maybe Jim can shoot you pics after its finished. It has basically the same air ride parts you have from Boris. Bags are airlift 2500s. Hope this helps

Helps a ton Mano, thanks. It must be his tire size that drops it a couple inches lower in the pics. Same set up as mine too, same bags, location etc. I used a 5 1/2 inch 1/4 wall pipe and have a deeper notch than a bought one but the deflated bag stops the 3rd just as it touches the bed floor. I would cut my floor and use 1 1/2 inches more of the notch, but the bags stop it from going lower. I need to come off the side of the frame or something.

Thanks

Re: Goldie coming along

Hey Guys, I'll try to find a little time tomorrow to post up a few pictures or I'll send them over to Jim to post.

In the front we weld the flat bottom plate, then the top flat plate we notched so the bag would fit inside when deflated. We did take pictures. The fronts also drop spindled too. It sits the front flat on the ground and the tires touching the factory inners with a 215/70/15. I used the bigger Firestone bag on the front just cause it collapses down better the the AirLift bag.

In the rear we build our own weld in notch, I plate the inside rail for strength and use a 6.5" inside diameter pipe to fit the axle and u-bolts into a little better. I spent a little time with it on the rack just grinding little issues to make sure everything cleared the way I wanted it to. Has a 2" block, Airlift Bags stock locations, Rear end goes thru the bed floor (no kissing it here). But still not crazy like I'm use too. But I think we trimmed it off nicely!!!

Double switch panel, dual needle gauges, 5 gallon tank, 2- ViAirs 444s, 175 pressure switch.

Hope that helps!!!

what mods did you do the the front end besides spindles ? Air bags of course up front and rear but did you section the crossmember or add cups to the lower control arms ??? I have a build in process and do not really want to make it layout but just sit like yours does when lowered and then raise to go down the road.....thanks kieth
