Re: Hazards don't work with headlights on

You can also have a connection problem on the power side of the circuit which will cause the same issues. Like was said about the headlight switch.
Start at the battery terminal and clean it and the inside of the cable. Then clean the terminal on the fender where the fusible link goes, check the link and maybe put a new one on. They have been known to corrode inside and create a high resistance.

There is a three way connector inside the harness by the left headlight and then one red 12 gauge wire goes to the firewall block that carries all the power to the dash and cab and fuse panel.

This block will sometimes corrode inside and cause the terminals not to carry current well.
You might pull the block off and check the wires inside.

After the wiring comes into the cab there's another junction with the red wires that feed the horn relay the head light switch the key switch and the fuse panel.
you could bypass the firewall block and run a wire from the battery positive post to the ignition switch and then check the lights and hazards. You can also run this wire to the ign-unfused terminal on the fuse panel and check to see if the panel is where the problem is.

The head light switch does not control the turns or hazards, they come out of the fuse panel from a wire from the key switch, Study the two diagrams below and you'll see the junctions of the red wires and where they go.

Here's your engine wiring.

Glad you got it figured out. No way you can catch something like that with regular troubleshooting....
