I can't add to the conversation much except to say welcome to the forum, and last April I was in Indiana and I went out of my way to stop by Shelbyville to have a picture taken of my wife and I under the "Welcome to Shelbyville" sign in your town. Our daughter's name is Shelby.
Nice panel BTW. Glad you did away with the camo effect.
Greg.

Hi!
Before the tunnel ram and stacks, how did the tripower run for daily use?

Like what your doing, I've been checking out your build thread! Yes it is a tunnel ram, I milled the top of the plenum and a company makes plates with different carb set ups so as I go I'll keep you updated!

Well I'm not going to lie I had problems and I was constantly having to mess with them. I had vacuum issues so obviously I thought the carbs were leaking and one was, but the intake was to, but I got working decent! And I didn't drive it daily so I can't say on that part!

I will dig thru my parts boxes and my notebook tomorrow and see if I can find the part numbers. They were a common tie rod, just longer.

Sweet panel. Wondered if you were aware of the kit to move the shifter location forward on the t56. Here's a link for ya:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=300892

I'm doing the T5 swap with the s10 tail to move the shifter forward.

Any thoughts on welding up mounts to the stock crossmember for the steering rack?

Yeah I knew about the relocation kit, but I moved the engine and trans forward so I thought I could make up the rest of the distance with the shifter. As far as the mounting brackets, I was looking at that last night trying to get some ideas, might do some more research before I start it, but it shouldn't be to hard! But thanks for look'n out for me on that kit!

Welcome, and Sweet Panel!

The camo paintjob with your current suspension would have been a neat look....but I am strange. LOL.
I have a..errr..ummmm....correction..my Wife has a 66 panel that was her grandpa's. "we" will be getting it over to our place soon to start in on it and get it back on the road. It has been sitting for 14 years.

Following along on your build.

Will be watching this install. Been thinking of doing a sectioned cross member for my truck. A rack would make the steering pretty easy.

Re: Installing Rack & Pinion on your C10

Ok I got to mess around on the truck tonight. I started making the mounting brackets which wasn't hard, but the R&P I have didn't come with a steel sleeve for the bolt to go through and I'm pretty sure it needs them, right?

Re: Installing Rack & Pinion on your C10

One thing to note when installing the rack mount:

If using the Mustang/T-Bird rack- be sure to center the rack housing between the frame rails, NOT the mounts themselves. They are not centered on the housing.

Seems simple enough, but a very common mistake.
