Re: one piece at a time
well i got my mustang tank in today. i had to cut allot more than i really wanted to on the frame. i didn't think it was going to take that much to fit it in there. all well its to late now im committed to it , think i may box that area in the back. tomorrow im going to change my track bar mount on the frame from the 65-66 mount to the 63-64 so i can use the adjustable track bar i bought.

Re: one piece at a time
cut my track bar rivets out on the frame and ready for the new 63-64 one.
welded the rear cross member in also did what im going to call a mini box on one side. that way i can still reach the top side of the inside of the rail so i can bolt in my mustang tank. will finish the other side tomorrow

Re: one piece at a time
Busy Saturday for me first went to the salvage yard and cut a new radio hole. I pulled the windshield and striped around the hole ,spilling paint striper on my dash. As a result I started striping the interior down to metal and pulling all my stickers off. I have not decided what color I am going to paint the inside. I may go with black same as the outside with touches of green, since I already bought the green carpet. I finally took a picture of my finished speaker hole patch on my passenger door.

Re: one piece at a time
wish I had a time machine, I would go back in time to the 1970S and kick the guy right square in the nuts that painted my truck with what i think is coper colored lacquer. that stuff you couldn't dynamite off. I threw paint striper at it and it just laughs at me, i even used the good aircraft striper. so after 2 days of hitting the inside of the cab with 10 of the 3m striper wheels it is finally bare metal. now 90% of my cab is in etching primer just need to strip the floor pans back down to give a good base for a coat of kbs rust seal for good measure. also a update on my small trucks the gmc is almost done just a few more odds and ends, as for the crew cab it has a long road ahead.

Re: one piece at a time
Yea found more rust, luckily hand another cab corner laying around so I started replacing it. Found a seat to recover to replace my bucket seats that I had. I trained a short bed 84 rolling frame for a working t56 six speed for my long bed 3/4 ton also bought a disk brake front end from a 71.
