got the frame and the inside firewall por 15'd...imma do the rest of the floor after the big window conversion...i didnt do the a arms cuz im goin to be replacing them, after i come back from the gitdown...im rushing to get her running by then.. hopefully i will be able to take her..hopefully..

top coated the frame with john deere bloitz black..man i love how this stuff looks.. and i got the firwall cleaned up and primered..

got the firewall painted...put a arms back on...shes a roller again...had to get everything ready for to take her to the shop for the big window conversion..cut up the domor cab cuz it wouldnt fit on my truck..dont worry the firewall and front of the cab is gone..nothin salvageable

got her loaded up for our trip to the northwest side..(it is far) ...

first thing the next day.. i got down and dirth.. i removed the roof skin cut the pieces from my donor and removed the inner liner for the big window...i went a head and scribed my pieces and cut off the old rusted pieces...my buddy Larry was supervising me the whole time...hes been doing this for 40yrs.. so i got some experience backing me up..

a customer brought us his 70 c10 project.. i asked Larry if i could use the customers 572 for awhile to you know "work all the bugs out" but he said i couldnt..lol..man that thing is a beast..
well i got the inner liner cleaned up and primered...im gonna lay down some radiant barrier on the roof for those hot summer days...i got the replacement dash installed and removed the inner liner...`

well we worked on the top corners of the cab.. and let me tell you.. patience is a must when doin sheetmetal body work..we got everything fitted up nicely.. im gonna comeback monday and start tacking everything and once everything is nice and sturdy.. we will get the inner liner installed and cut out the window..makes me smile just thinkin about ti...none of this would be possible without mu buddies Larry ,Jose and Aiden over at Metal and
Motors Garage (im also a part timer there)... but they have bent over backwards for me and i cant thank them enough.. so monday i get back to it and hopefully get it knocke dout before the weekend.. times running short on me if im gonnamake it over to Dinos Git Down in nov..keeping my fingers crossed..

That is some serious metal repair. Just cutting all the spot welds would scare most people away. You probably cut a couple hundred of them at least. Are you going to add insulation or sound proofing since you have all of that opened up?

I cringe thinking about how rusty all that is on my truck but just too much work to take it all apart if its not rusted out.

Ya...it's a lot of spot welds and grinding. ...very tedious. ..

well started welding the patch pieces...dont laugh at my welds.. this is really my first crack at welding...ive just got to get my technique down...but i wa pretty happy with the end results..
the center piece was made by my buddy Larry..i was impressed that he made this piece with out any big tools or machines.. just straight hand work and some clamps and a pipe..lol.. he really gets down...
got the inner liner mocked up.. i will start cutting tomarrow...i just cant wait to get her running...

I'm kindly partial to '63's and really like what you are doing to yours. Keep up the good work and keep us posted. I'm fixing to put mine into paint this winter. I've had her quite a spell and it's time. We have moved up to the mountains since retiring, and they use salt on the roads up here, it hardly snowed where we're from. I want "Ginger" to last for my son, long after I'm gone, after all we are just the caretakers of these trucks, they own us! Thanks again for sharing your progress!

well got a late start but here i am fitting the inner big window piece.. its taken alot to get to this point... i was pretty happy when i took this pic

as soon as i got home.. i got the bed back on her...man she looks good...i gotta finish painting the rear of the bed...tomarrow imma get that knocked out and start getting the 327 ready to stab that baby in..for me its all down hill here...even though my plans to head out to arizona for Dinos git down got crushed.. im still keeping the deadline...im pretty happy right now...
