My 1963 Chevy C10 swb i call ..Mary.

whats up folks...well im finally getting around to making a thread for my 1963 chevy swb i call Mary.I really didnt plan on getting to her this soon but after finding out my 65 big window Tina had a bent frame.. well that gother put on the backburner for now..and Mary was put in the spotlight to be on dailydriver status.
Ok so lets begin...here she is after i pulled her out of the weeds put some fresh tires on her..shes got some nice patina going on..i took this pic in July..
i went to pick her up and bring her home 2 weeks ago... had to take the stepside bed off.. it wasnt bolted down and we didnt have a lot of time to secure it so opted to take it off and put it in the bed of my 89

i found a 63 lwb at a local pick and pull..she was just put there so i jumped on it quick.. i scored a driverside door ( temporary) ,uncut low hump floor piece ,heater box,side vents and steering column... also got a good fleetside bumper with brackets and the original radiator.. its a small one but itll do till i can get me an aluminumall for $200 its a good deal if u ask me
now that i got her home the cleanup begins...put the "new" door on...it cool it has some indian painted on it..i think it adds a cool touch to Mary..

well last Thursday i was out side working on Mary and some pulls up and was interested in a 65 impala i had for sale.. we got to talking and he said he had a motor he would trade me for the car.. it was a rust bucket and i really didnt buy it to restore it..just to flip...so went over to see what he had... i we got to talking and i found out he had a 64 swb fleetside...prety much he told me he didnt care for fleetsides and he wanted a stepside...knowing how hard to comeby the swb fleetsides are and me wanting to make mine a fleetside we swapped...i told him i ll be back in 30 min witht the car ..and to have the bed ready....its crazy how things work out sometimes...i got rid of the impala i got my bed and oh yea..i sold him my stepside too..[ATTACH]1292926[/ATTACH
the next day i put the bed on Mary.. and wow let me tell you how much nicer she looks with the fleetside..not to knock stepsides..i love em.. my 68 is a stepside..but i feel the fleetside look better on this body style..it got dark on me.but i had to take some pics

the next day after work i gave her an altitude adjustment.. i had some cut drop springs laying around.. swapped out the old ones.. it bring her out even more...

shes got a few bad spots.. this is the worst.. i talked to my buddy and we decided to go a head and repair these spots and make her a big window...im excited to see her with a big window...tuesday imma get some more por 15 and get down on the fire wall and engine bay.. the cam should be here next week and hopefully in a couple weeks i will put a 327 in the engine bay...


pulled some pieces from the engine to get powdercoated..

Well yesterday after work I started removing the front clip on Mary...and let me tell you...every nut and bolt fought me..After a busted finger and few cuts I managed to get it off...today after work I will do some pressure washing and remove the steering column..

been chipping away on Mary.. cleaning lil ends and outs...been working days so ive been working on her till 9 10 o'clock...today i got rained out..i go on nights for the next 5 days...gonna hopefully get the dash pulled from the donor tomarrow after i get up... parts on their way... hope i can have the 327 in in a couple weeks..

well sorry i havented posted in awhile...between work and personlstuff been kinda busy..ive gotten a lil done to Mary...good news is parts are comin in daily so its getting to the point that i start putting this stuff together...lol...i removed the old dash gonna get ready to por15 the back of the "new" dash and the inside of the firewall...im so ready to get this baby to big back window status...hopefully in a minth i will be able to knock it out....found a donor truck today in college station.. gonna go check her out sometime next week see if i can get some good parts off of her..

It was something like 5 inches in the back.....won't know on the front till I get the engine in...but I'm guessing like 5 to 6 inches...it's gonna be pretty low..lol..
