Alternator not charging

Here's your problem Quoted from your earlier post.

Started tracing back again looked at the wires etc pulled a little and straighted. Started mulitmeter work and I now have power to the alternator exciter wire.

You must have a bad connection on the brown wire or white wire or whatever color the L wire is. I would check the wire at the firewall connection and if you have 12 volts there, then run a new wire to the alternator. The 10 ohm resistance of the charging light is not enough for the CS alternators. It works ok for the SI series but the CS alternators need at least 35 ohms to 350 ohms. Some of the CS alternators have internal regulators that do not require the resistor but I don't know what the model nos. are.
