Re: New truck whats it worth?

I'd say $2500 in Kansas. Finding a rust free truck SAVES alot of money at the bodyshop. The bed alone is worth alot of money. If your wanting for a patina truck I think it would be awesome!!!!!!!

If it was mine, I wouldn't take a penny less than 4k either.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

clearly a shortbed, no center stake holes.

this is a case of the whole being worth more than the parts, kind of backwards, because the only thing better than rust free patina is rust free patina that matches.

if you pass on it because of the price, you will be reminded about the $1500 you might save buying a cheaper truck every time you find a rust free green fender for your red truck with a blue bed

Re: New truck whats it worth?

Price seems to be on the high side, espescially when you consider that it's not a running and driving truck. It's definitley go lots of potential. If you could get it for 2k or under, you could use the rest of what the asking price was to make it a nice runner and driver.

Big potential there!!!! I love a factory painted short fleets, and would try to offer less of course but if it's as clean as you say it is it would be hard for me to walk away from that.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

You want to crawl under it and be sure there is no rust out anywhere, and take it from there. You can always start lower and come up on a offer to feel him out.Curious to know what you get it for if you do buy it. Good Luck.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

I think 4k is a little on the high side, but a clean, shortbed a/c truck won't turn up everyday. I think in the $2500 range would be a fair buy.
I notice in this day and age its hard to find a junk parts truck for $500 anymore.

Looks pretty straight. What is the condition of the cab floor and rockers?
If I was in the market, had been looking and had the money, would definitely consider it.

Agreed. I had to stop, though, after adding suspension and wheels and tires that it will undoubtedly need...About $3,500 after the purchase price, I'd guess.

Oh, and one tail light. I bet the King has one stashed for you in his pile of sweet stuff.

Next, motor, trans, interior, glass (maybe)....Big potential. Big wallet???
We're all crazy. But get it for the right price.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

I think $2,500 would be a fair price. but if someone REALLY liked the patina i would not think they were out of line paying $3,500 for it.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

$2k tops only because it has the cool aged look and only if it passed my inspection. If it was a BBW add another $500.

Cool truck for sure though.

If the body is the way you want it (patina), then you don't have far to go. Most of us can handle the mechanical stuff, it's the body that takes the most time and money.
I agree, I'd pay 2500 for it, but TN has a lot more rustfree trucks than Canada. Add an engine and trim and figure what it would cost to drive and compare to drivers advertised

I bought a 72 C10 Highlander big block, wood bed, running, auto, ac, tilt for 4k in Fargo last year (rust in rockers and cab corners)

Re: New truck whats it worth?

You have to get it out the grass and take a real good look at it. Look at where the floors meet the kick panels, where the door seals are along the bottom, the bottom of the core support, the bottoms of the doors on the inside, the back side of the rockers and the cab supports, the lip around the insid of the bed where the wood mounts, the inside of the hood behind the parking lights and the front of the cab at the top of the windshield. Once you have a real good look its time to figure out what the body is worth. You have to assume the motor, tires, brakes, AC and the wiring are not any good. With it not being running and driving that is just what it is. Then decide on what its worth to you for what it does have.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

Mine was in the same condition when I bought it. I paid $1000 and he let me use the trailer to take it home. I would say $2500 at the most.

Just throwing some numbers at you. I bought new sheet metal for my ENTIRE cab from LMC for 1000$ including shipping. Could be cheaper shopping around.
