Re: I Wish... J10
I've always liked the old FSJ's too. While not a J10, I've had this 2 door '78 Cherokee parked in the way back of my shop for at least 10 years now. I replaced the frame from the front seats back a long time ago due to rust, did a spring over with crossover steering, and put full width 3/4 ton Chevy axles under it. With all of that I'm still only about half way through the project. Jeeps are a pain....

Re: I Wish... J10
There is a very nice wagoneer about that year sitting in a carport near me for the last 25 years and I want it so very badly. I hear they wont sell it but one day I will stop and see.

Re: I Wish... J10
Here's our 86 J10, I just finished an LS swap and a complete restore. New paint, 2002 yukon 5.3 with 4l60e, functioning cruise, tilt and A/C. I really like the old truck, easy to work on and pretty stout. Don't see many around here that haven't rusted to the ground, this one should be good for another 30 years.

Re: I Wish... J10
It sure is nice. I wondered if you would see this thread. I bet it's a pleasure to drive now. Talk about modern power with old style. That's a great match-up

Re: I Wish... J10
HOLY TOLEDO!! I can't take it. WOW!
I'm sorry, you can't always hate white spokes. And I was the first to burn out on them. I also like other wheels more. This is how it was and that is what I can appreciate now.

Re: I Wish... J10
Dang it Special K, now I'm on the hunt for a J10. I sold my last driver/beater truck (83 Datsun 4x4) a few months ago and need something equally odd to replace it. Driving out to look at a 79 in a few days.

Re: I Wish... J10
Sorry. While you're at it could you be looking for me too? All I could find was this one:
It's not for sale or I would be digging for coins

Re: I Wish... J10
My 48. Maybe someday it will get resto modded. It needs a chassis, will probably get straight axle k20. It has been in my family longer than me.
