I am a fan of Viair compressors.

Re: Air ride conundrum...

While F/R set-ups are cheaper, they will allow more lean vs 4 corner control.

My dually requires different psi on the LF vs RF to achieve the same ride height too (something to consider as well).

For a dually, definitely go w/the largest volume tank you can fit & utilize 2 comps (or an engine driven set-up). There's alot more weight to lift vs a 1/2 ton SWB w/a sbc.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Good point about the roll between sides. Didnt think of that. I found some 2800 bags. Do you think those would be better on the rear vs 2600? I havent done any measurements yet so i dont really know what kinda space im going to have. But definatley wanna run a bigger tank or tanks and dual air compressors if I got the funds. I will at the very least plan for the addition in the future.

Rear bags will ultimately depend on your suspension set-up. What have you decided on, AOL w/leafs removed or a 2-link/4-link?

Im pretty sure Im going with a 2-link setup but I have to do some measuring to see if what i have planned in my head is going to work. I wanna put bags on the rear of the 2-link bars but im not sure if Ill have the space requirements. May have to put bags on inside of the frame above the axle in which case id have more room.

If doing the 2-link & ditching the leaf set-up, I'd do 2800's. But, know it's common to utilize sleeve bags when mounted on/very close to the rear end. The dbl convoluted bags would be better suited for the bag-on-bar arrangement for better ride quality (info from those that have experience w/each). Not sure how the dbl convoluted bags will ride directly above the rear housing.

It might be something that's not noticed.... or it could be. I'm guessing it's subjective. My 4-bar utilizes sleeve style 3500# bags directly behind the axle where the leafs were positioned. Decent ride for sure vs the HD OE leaf pack.

Thats basically what I am planning on doing and was looking at all the different bags that I could use. Most I have seen were sleeve bags as well just wasnt sure what all the difference was between them all besides capacity.

Found this but pretty sure its too tall.

Re: Air ride conundrum...

That seems pretty large capacity wise. Mine are similar but w/a 3500# rating & smaller in size.

Re: Air ride conundrum...

For reference, I'm running about 45psi for 28" @ the rear wheel fender lip (@ C/L of opening w/31.7" tall tires) for ride height. I run between 27-28" typically.

I Think I have room for 2 8 gallon tanks. You think thats overkill? I was looking at the viair 444c compressors. I would run 2 of them. I would like to be able to have an auxiliary air port for air tools in case i need to change a tire or something. After all it is going to be a working truck.
