Re: Pics of my 53 nearing completion
Chuck,
I don't know how i missed your thread until now but I'm hugely interested. Looks great, what color are you gonna paint it? (Ha ha, I couldn't resist) If mine weren't already in the paint shop I'd be tempted to wrap mine in he same color - more or less- that it was when it had Rustoleum on it. I'd LOVE to hear how you like your drivetrain combo? My '55 TF has a stock rebuilt 6.0 LQ4/4l85e/Mustang 8.8 going in it. I want my truck as a daily and reliable as a Timex. Yeah, not a true hotrod but with over 300hp and torque it'll be a rocket compared to the tired 283/350TH/10 bolt it had before. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I THINK my rear has 2.73's in it(?) I noticed you said you have 3.73's but would prefer a higher ratio, maybe 3.42? I'd love to hear how it pulls with your 3.73? I'm sure its stoplight-to-stoplight quick and fun but how is it on the highway? I may have to swap ratios. Any chance you have video you could post?

I love that you went with the steel bed. I'm doing the same in my 59 Fleet. I use it too much to worry about destroying the finish of a wood bed.
