hey dubie, nice looking ride and stance. I like the patina on this one as well, not so over the top as some. not usually a patina guy myself. spent too many years driving patina cause the pocketbook was buying groceries instead of paint, haha.

the LS install looks good. I like the way you run the bulkhead connector. is that a piece of the donor firewall that you cut out and use on the "new" application or is that a custom part? would you use a weather cover on the fuse panel or is there no such thing, possibly too big, didn't bother at time of pic? |

The firewall plug was changed and the hole needed to be smaller than the old one and it is just a piece of sheet metal.
I once had the fuse panel inside of an old toolbox, but changed over to just mounting the panel on the fender skirt. I have plans of making a cover, but I don't want something that is bolted on. I need to figure out some kind of snap on quick release cover. |

if using stainless remember it is softer than the steel bolts so the allen heads strip off easier and they may not be as strong as a steel alternative. should be fine for holding fenders and trim on though.

These are the bolts & washers I bought on the left and I think they look good. Better than stock clutchheads in my opinion. BUT, since buying them I've had 2nd thoughts whether I should have bought the beveled washers the supplier offers as an alternative. I think they look better but they're almost twice the price so I'll live with the flat ones. Yes, I know stainless fasteners are softer. It's because of their nickel content which also makes them rust resistant. Dsraven - I am using those polished button head stainless on the fasteners in the engine compartment that fasten the inner & outer fenders together right on top. And I will use Never seize on them too.

that should look great on there.
I just dug my inner fenders out. really rusty and beat up. good for the mock up though. figure out where I need to cut them to fit for the new configuration and then transfer the new shape onto a new set of inners. |
