Re: 1967 CST Stepside WITH, yes WITH bed trim

Then I started to look more closely at the cab corner and the front of the step fender... they looked an awful lot a like...

So if, you flip the DS cab corner piece upside down, cut the correct end of it off and trim the ends to fit over the fender trim... it's pretty dang close. I still had to gently tweak it a bit, but it was a HUGE improvement and it "matches" how far "forward/back" the piece goes on the cab corner.

Re: 1967 CST Stepside WITH, yes WITH bed trim

That looks better. Honestly didn't realize the difference until the after photo's.

I know how strong this stuff is, I am missing the right rear piece on my lwb. Found one that was tweaked right in the middle, but not terrible (and if you've seen my truck, "driver quality" is a step up!). Still have the piece, keep working it when I can, but I swear, look at it wrong.... Kink!!

Re: 1967 CST Stepside WITH, yes WITH bed trim

Yeah, and once it's kinked.... It really likes to stay that way.

I was supposed to be saving this trim for me fleet swap, but with residing my house and planning my shop build this year, that's on hold for quite some time and I had this box of nice trim just sitting around in my way... and I thought... how cool would it be to have on of the very very few stepsides anyone has ever attempted to put the trim on the actual bed? Aside from midniteblues example (which sounded a bit butchered ) I don't recall ever seeing one in pictures or person.

I have seen a few duallys with step fenders added with the trim added and those look pretty awesome too.

The addition of that front piece did a great job completing it. It looks fantastic. Way to think outside the "box"...

I like this new piece a lot! It definitely looks as right as it ever would if GM were to do it with the matching cab corner radius there. I think if it went any further in on the fender it would just look awkward.

Re: 1967 CST Stepside WITH, yes WITH bed trim

Thanks guys. I looked at it again this morning and really like it now.

I wonder if I get Mar-K to sell this as a kit if I'll get a cut

Thinking outside the box is $. I ordered two new cab corners from Mar-K and they were $82 + shipping.

Re: 1967 CST Stepside WITH, yes WITH bed trim

I absolutely love it! It looked just fine with the short piece, but it really did bring it hope after you added the cab corner piece. Very nice work, it turned out fantastic. Now I want a step-side!

Looks good! Just wondering if you could "shim" the wheel well trim out at the bottom to get her to match up a little better?

Re: 1967 CST Stepside WITH, yes WITH bed trim

The bed trim is the only trim that "overlaps." The front fender, doors, and cab trim are all stand alone pieces. The front and rear pieces overlap the rear fender well trim (they would do the same if this was on a fleet bed as well). It looks a bit odd when you look right at it. It's also loose, I have to drill some more holes so cinch it all down.

Man, that's nice...
