I will say you are correct.

In the next few days I will try to find that vent door.

I am almost positive it does not have the lever on it.

I went through this with my truck. The bracket was in the bottom of the cowl cavity. The welds were no match for the door springs, it’s a poor design. There is a hole on the vent right side channel, the bracket has an embossed shape that lines up with the hole. That gets the bracket in the right location, but it doesn’t address the angle. The way the spring is, there are two positions, open and closed. I figured the bracket on mine needed to be mounted at 55 degrees. I found out the hard way when at first I had welded the bracket closer to 45 degrees and the door wouldn’t close flush. I’m not a pro welder so I used bolts to mount the bracket. There’s also the foam gasket that goes in the channel, but with everything aligned the spring clamps the door shut. There is a picture of my 55 degree mounting template in my build thread post #167.
