Re: No. I am not dead yet. So here's a question on Chassis Stiffening...

So, i got the Summit frame Brace in and here are some pics. It includes Engine Mounts that work with Early Tall and Narrow engine mounts and some LS mounts. It also comes with a tranny mount that will work with old and new transmissions, auto and 4-Speeds.
Please note that i have yet to test the Engine and tranny mount.
There are 4 separate pieces that bolt to the inside of the frame then the main brace bolts to them.

Looks like a decent kit. I watched the video & seems like a straight forward install as well. Not sure how well it would work on extreme dropped trucks though so that needs to be considered for those it applies to.

Any idea on the weight of the kit pieces?

*EDIT*
That price kind of stings though. I also saw when I looked it up that the only comment registered online was that it didn't fit under the floor of a guys 68 C10 from Georgia (he didn't clarify on what was causing the interference).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Thank you very much for the detailed pictures.

What diameter tubing do they use? And what gauge are the mounts?

I would probably buy that kit if I was in the States but the shipping would kill the deal so going to have to plagiarise the design.

Kudos for helping others make decisions on their course of action. The current state of our world is FUBAR @ a minimum.

Re: No. I am not dead yet. So here's a question on Chassis Stiffening...

As I work for my own business I doubt very much if I will get any additional time in the garage - working form home with a staff of 15 is tricky, thankfully they are all professionals and know what has to be done so I can leave them too it. The problem is our customers!

If I was to provide a schematic of the brace could you fill in the dimensions? I am not going to replace my control arm crossmember but use that to secure the tubular braces too. I am surprised that my initial rough sketch is pretty close to the Summit design.

Really appreciate you taking the time to do this.

Keep safe everyone.

P.

Thank you sir. It is sad what i going on in this world today. It is sad to see how some people are to others, taking boxes and boxes of toilet paper, cases and cases of baby food, milk and such, mean while the elderly are left to fend for themselves, just pisses me off. We really could use alot more of God in our lives, just my thought. Anyways... sorry off topic....

I will try to help anyone as much as i can on this, I did see that summit has them listed to ship immediately now, just an FYI to anyone looking, as of yesterday.
With all this "extra" time to spare to myself, lots will get done soon. LOL
