Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
Just to add to this.
How is the air flow routed through one of these? Does the air just dump into a huge plenum and then all the Air/Fuel mixture gets pulled to the cylinder on the intake stroke? The stronger my curiosity is getting, the more I want this thing |

Watch the video at 2:15 , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-DwOwpk_Nk Poor mans fuel injection , The carbs dump right into the head , 1 carb serves 2 cylinders .
Offer $500.00 in cash in your hand while talking about needing to rebuild all the carbs

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
My dad had a 3 duals setup on his 56 Chevy. Yea, it looked cool, but he was forever chasing syncing issues and just a lack of performance. He dropped a lot of cash into those things and ended up getting rid of them and opted for an edelbrock setup instead. Just remembering him try and screw with those things on endless weekends, I would never do it. Good luck though

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
Early Vettes had 3 carbs, but I'm pretty sure they were one barrel.

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
I have a few of these oem 427 corvette tri power winters snowflake intakes and carbs , This one I sold to another member about 4 years ago $$$$, They start and run on the center carb that have the choke plate and idle circuit and the outer Matched carbs come in progressively and have no choke plate or idle circuit .
Did you buy the 4x2 intake ?

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
My good friend has this setup in his Hurst LeMans and it is awesome. I have drove this car a few times and I'm here to tell you this thing rock's! It is a fun vehicle. He is retired now but he set this up and it's a hand full when you step on it!

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
One of my buddies in the Navy had a Catalina with a 421 (might have been a 389) tri-power and a four-speed. That car would move right along, too.

At least out there you wouldn't have to worry so much about airborne dirt and dust turning your cylinder walls and rings into a scored up disaster in short order. Do they even have air cleaners on them? |

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
I don't know how those others operate, but my 3x2 setup is so simple. I run off the center carb all year long, if I floor it, the 2 outer carbs just dump mechanically like a 4 bbl carb would. no adjustments on the outer carbs, just jet changes.

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
hamjet, absolutely love the look of that 3-deuce set up on that W engine. Can't tell from the pic but what year engine bay is it residing in? One of the last car shows I was able to attend before the Kung Fu Flu struck there was a really slick black on black 58 Impala with the 348 / 3-deuces and a 4 spd. Wish I had taken pics, it was absolutely a beautiful machine !!

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
Four 2bbl carbs is like being married to four women simultaneously but only getting along with one at any given time. Expensive, troublesome, and then you have to lie to the next guy that you sell the setup to and tell him it worked out great for you.
Don't buy it unless it's got shiny stuff on it. That will make it easier to get rid of.

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
This reminds me of a polished aluminum Edelbrock 2x4bbl tunnel ram that made its rounds in my home town back in the 80s. It was nicknamed after a local well known woman of ill repute because it had been involved with so many guys. Everybody tried it but no one loved or kept it around very long. But it was gorgeous and the allure was powerful. I believe that I was number 6 or 7 on the list of fools. Glad to buy it, even happier to sell it. It was shiny and easy to sell and I only lost like 20 bucks on it.

Re: Thoughts on a Four 2bbl intake Manifold
Offy has 1, 2, and 3V manifolds for the Late Chevy L6. Unless you were building an over-bored [L-25] 292 @ .060+ = 301>CI to pull a dragster or power a drag tractor, it would be impractical to fab a 4V L6 intake.
