Re: Need help with value
If you get the time, look through the past Blazer auctions on Bring A Trailer just to see what’s sold. Survivor white Highlander brought $58k recently. I don’t perceive much of a premium for a given year but by numbers they’ll always be more available 72s.
What I find most surprising is that bidders seldom if ever ask questions that touch on originality or completeness.

Re: Need help with value
Let us know what you get it for. Like SeventyOne said, if you get it for 1200, you stole it. From what I can tell, it looks like a great project, body looks good with all the emblems and lenses, seats, roll bar. It even has the new in dash Nav system, AC in the seats and cupholders...
Sorry, that's my new Tahoe LTZ. Could bring 5K, depending on how good of a friend he is! |

Re: Need help with value
Sorry for the late update I went out of town. He decided not to sell it to me. One of those "maybe I'll fix it in the future" types. So I guess it will sit in the field for another few years. I'll keep trying though for sure.

Re: Need help with value
I wanted say I think the values are going up because new vehicles are so freaking expensive. My uncle just bought a 21 ram 2500 all decked out and it was almost 90k. I like new but yikes.

Re: Need help with value
Well the heart of this is inflation. People make more money, prices increase, rinse, repeat, until the end of time. Throw in the increasing rarity of these trucks every year and there you go.

Re: Need help with value
Here's more pictures. Needs some rust addressed but nothing too major. Going to clean it up a little and try and get it running soon.

Re: Need help with value
I'm glad to see that the first thing you did was drain the old fluid from the Fireball bottle on the floorboard!! I would say flush that out a few more times with new fluid and you'll be good to go. Keep sending pics!

Re: Need help with value
Flint built maybe with an early sequence number (I’m not clear w GMC numbers though). Does it happen to have a double wall top or speaker grille holes atop the dash as seen in a pickup?

I like it! I’m a sucker for turbine wheels too.

Re: Need help with value
Turbine wheels are definitely staying on it. As far as the speaker grills I'll get a picture when I'm off work.

Definitely single wall I believe and no speaker grills on top of the dash

Re: Need help with value
Thanks for posting. It seems that Flint began building 72s with double walls like St Louis then shortly into the model year began installing single wall tops. Briefly, the typical style tubs were used with single wall tops and these K5s used the external speaker. After these the Flint tubs had the pickup style speaker location. If interested, here's a thread where I've tried to tease out details: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=701826
